Washington CB Kendall Fuller (knee) and LB Thomas Davis (calf) are questionable for Sunday's game against the Cardinals. It's more likely that neither would be in your IDP plans even if active, but we'll update their statuses Sunday afternoon. Davis' return after he missed Week 1 could complicate Washington's LB picture.

Washington CB Kendall Fuller (knee) is doubtful for Sunday's game against the Eagles. That leaves an already iffy secondary without a starter against a dangerous crew of pass-catchers that includes WRs DeSean Jackson and Jalen Reagor. The rookie could particularly benefit if he sees as much time in the slot as anticipated. Fuller has worked primarily as a slot corner.

Washington has ruled out LB Thomas Davis with a calf injury. That might help to explain why the veteran hasn't sat among the starters in the initial depth chart. We'll see how this LB situation sorts out in the early weeks. Try to avoid it with your IDP lineup for at least Week 1, if you can.

Washington has activated LB Reuben Foster from the PUP list. Foster opened training camp on the PUP following last May's ACL tear but appears on track for Week 1. Foster hasn't played in an NFL game since Week 6 of 2018 but should find an open path to a starting job in a weak Washington LB corps. He's a nice option for IDP upside late in your fantasy football draft.

Washington grabbed Ohio State DE Chase Young with the 2nd pick of the 2020 NFL Draft. Young was near-unanimously considered the top defensive player in this draft and the top available talent overall by many evaluators. He led the class with 1.38 sacks and 1.75 tackles for loss per game in 2019. His 16.5-sack 2019 followed a 10.5-sack 2018 for the Buckeyes. New Washington DC Jack Del Rio has said the team will play a 4-3 base, which will make Young a DE and help his fantasy value. Expect Young to sit atop our rookie rankings for dynasty leagues and within draft range when our 2020 projections come out.

Former Eagles CB Ronald Darby has agreed to a 1-year, $3 million deal with Washington. That's a tiny contract for a 26-year-old former 2nd-round pick who has spent his whole career starting. But it signals that Darby couldn't find more than a "prove it" deal on the open market after losing 20 games to injury over his 3 seasons in Philly. Darby served as the Eagles' top corner when healthy and could become the same for Washington. That defense has traded away CB Quinton Dunbar and released CB Josh Norman this offseason. The current roster sports only 1 corner (Fabian Moreau) who played at least 50% of Washington's defensive snaps last season. Washington also signed CB Kendall Fuller in free agency. Barring an early NFL Draft pick at the position, Fuller, Moreau and Darby look like the new top 3 corners there. Philly, meanwhile, traded for Darius Slay to take over its top CB spot. The rest of the depth chart likely has some sorting left to do.

The Seahawks on Monday traded a 5th-round NFL Draft pick to Washington for CB Quinton Dunbar, ESPN reports. Dunbar is heading into the final season on his contract and lost 14 games to injuries over the past 2 years. He has proved productive when on the field, though, including 17 passes defensed and 6 INTs over his past 18 games. Dunbar should be a starter for Seattle and a draftable DB in 2020 IDP leagues of at least moderate depth.

Washington S Troy Apke (knee) is inactive for today's game against the Cowboys. He joins starting safeties Landon Collins and Montae Nicholson as being out for this contest, which will also miss a slew of Washington CBs. It's a great matchup for everyone on the Dallas offense.

Washington S Landon Collins (Achilles' tendon) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Giants but looks likely to play. HC Bill Callahan said Thursday that Collins had a good chance to play despite missing the week's 1st 2 practices, according to the team website. And then Collins returned to a full workout Friday. We'll check his status Sunday morning. Washington will be without starting CB Quinton Dunbar (hamstring) for the 2nd straight game and will likely also miss starter Fabian Moreau (hamstring, doubtful). Washington recently placed CB Jimmy Moreland on IR as well, leaving a shoddy secondary looking even worse against a healthy and talented crew of Giants WRs.

Washington DL Da'Ron Payne (ankle) is active for today's game against the Panthers. He hit the day questionable but is fine for planned IDP usage. He's a low-level fantasy option, though.

Washington OLB Ryan Kerrigan suffered a concussion in Sunday's win over the Lions. We'll see if he can make it through the protocol in time for next Sunday's upside sack matchup with the Panthers.

Washington CB Josh Norman is active for today's game against the Lions. He's not an injury risk, but there had been reports Washington planned to leave Norman inactive after sitting him late in last week's loss to the Jets. It's tough to know exactly what role Norman will play, but his active status points to him remaining in the starting lineup.

Norman and Washington's other top 2 CBs did get pulled late in last Sunday's loss to the Jets. Interim HC Bill Callahan told the Washington Times afterward that he made the move because "they wanted to look at other players." Washington was down 20-3 entering the 4th quarter of that game and 27-3 less than 2 minutes into the 4th quarter. It would be tougher to justify pulling the starters in a closer game. We'll check Norman's status Sunday morning.
