Zach Charbonnet Could Be Back Sooner Than Expected

The Seattle News Tribune's Gregg Bell came away from the Seahawks' minicamp on Tuesday believing that RB Zach Charbonnet could be back from his torn ACL sooner than expected. Bell notes that HC Mike Macdonald said shortly after Charbonnet's surgery in mid-February that Charbonnet wouldn't do anything this spring. Yet there he was working off to the side of Tuesday's practice for about 15 minutes with trainers. Charbonnet was working through "lateral movement and other low-impact drills," according to Bell. It was the first time he was on the field in a practice open to the media this offseason. "Charbonnet’s work, albeit incremental, at this minicamp suggests he could be at the top of the plans Macdonald and new offensive coordinator Brian Fleury have for the start of the season," Bell wrote.

Jadarian Price Drafted by the Seahawks in Final Pick of the First Round

The Seattle Seahawks selected Notre Dame RB Jadarian Price in Round 1 of the 2026 NFL Draft. Price was overshadowed by Jeremiyah Love but clearly showed enough on that limited work. After rebounding from a ruptured Achilles in 2022, he displayed consistent burst, power, and efficiency. That produced 6.0 career yards per carry and 10.8 per catch (albeit on only 15 career receptions). The Athletic’s Dane Brugler went so far as to say Price may have generated Heisman buzz had he transferred out of Notre Dame for 2025. Instead, Price hits the NFL with limited wear on his body. Among the 20 RBs invited to the NFL Combine, Price ranked 17th in 2025 rushing market share (27.5%) and third in yards after contact per attempt (3.92). He ranked second in 2025 missed tackles forced per attempt (0.28) and seventh in receiving yards per route run (1.23). He is currently 22 years old.

Don't Expect Seahawks Offense To Look Very Different In 2026

New Seahawks OC Brian Fleury was asked about his offense on Wednesday and said it'll look “very similar to the one that just won the Super Bowl.” Fleury worked with former Seahawks OC and new Raiders HC Klint Kubiak for one year in San Francisco under HC Kyle Shanahan. "Both of us were more influenced by Kyle than anything else," Fleury said of his relationship with Kubiak. "Klint's a good friend and a great football coach. Right away we bonded over similar views of football. How we see the game, what we think is important."

Seahawks Pluck New OC From Shanahan Tree

The Seahawks are hiring Brian Fleury as their new OC, according to multiple reports. Fleury spent the past seven seasons in San Francisco under HC Kyle Shanahan, working his way from defensive quality control coach to TEs coach and run game coordinator this past year. Fleury has never called plays at any level.

Zach Charbonnet Tore ACL; 2026 in Question?

Seahawks RB Zach Charbonnet will miss the rest of the playoffs after suffering an ACL tear in his left knee. Seattle originally believed the injury to be minor, but HC Mike Mcdonald announced Monday that he'd need surgery. ESPN's Adam Schefter reported the ACL tear.

Zach Charbonnet's Knee Injury Not Serious

Seahawks RB Zach Charbonnet injured his left knee in the second quarter of Saturday night's win over the 49ers and did not return. He was back on the sidelines riding a stationary bike in the second half, though. And HC Mike Macdonald said afterward that the knee is "okay structurally." That doesn't necessarily mean that Charbonnet will be available for next weekend's NFC Championship game, but it at least sounds like he dodged anything that would impact his 2026 season. We should learn more about Charbonnet early this coming week.

Seahawks RBs Finish Strong Against the 49ers

RBs Zach Charbonnet and Kenneth Walker III finished the regular season strong, helping the Seahawks secure the top seed in the NFC. Charbonnet went 17-74-1 on the ground and 3-23-0 through the air on 4 targets. Walker went 16-97-0 on the ground and 4-36-0 through the air, catching all of his targets. With Walker set to be a free agent after this season, both RBs could be valuable fantasy players in 2026.

Zach Charbonnet Takes Control Of Seattle Backfield

Zach Charbonnet posted his best numbers of the season, carrying 18 times for 110 yards and a pair of TDs to lead the Seahawks to a 27-10 victory over the Carolina Panthers. The attempts and yardage marks were Charbonnet's highest of the season and marked the first time since Week 13 that he received more carries in a game than Kenneth Walker III.

Kenneth Walker III Disappears In Atlanta

It's been a frustrating season for Kenneth Walker, and Week 14 was rock bottom. Walker crushed fantasy lineups with a season-low 3.8 PPR points in Seattle's 37-9 win in Atlanta. Walker carried 10 times for just 29 yards -- his lowest rushing output since Week 1. Walker's 3.8 points were the fewest points he's musterd in any game since Week 11 of the 2023 season -- a game he exited early with an injury.

Seahawks Declare War on Your Fantasy Football Lineup

If you've been rostering either of Seattle's top two RBs this season, then you've undoubtedly been frustrated with their deployment and production. The Seahawks added a third element to that problem in Sunday's win over the Cardinals. George Holani ran for a 9-yard TD near the end of the first quarter, en route to a 7-31-1 rushing line for the day. Ahead of him, Zach Charbonnet rushed for a team-leading 83 yards and another TD on 14 carries. Kenneth Walker matched Charbonnet at 14 carries, tallying 67 yards, and drew the backfield's only target. (He caught it for a whopping 3 yards.)

Here's the Biggest Problem with Kenneth Walker's Usage

Kenneth Walker III led Seattle in carries (17) and rushing yards (66) in Monday night's win over the Texans. But he (again) ceded the highest-value touches to RB Zach Charbonnet. The latter carried 12 times for 49 years but scored both Seattle rushing TDs, from 1 and 2 yards out. Charbonnet also claimed the backfield's only two targets for the game, catching both for 6 yards.

Zach Charbonnet Deceptively Leads Work on Sluggish Backfield Day

Seahawks RBs managed only 58 yards on 22 carries in Sunday's win at Jacksonville. Zach Charbonnet edged Kenneth Walker III 12-10 in carries but averaged just 2.0 yards per rush with a long run of 8. Walker didn't fare much better, with a 10-34 rushing line and a long run of 10. Each guy caught his only target.

Ken Walker Takes Slight Lead Over Zach Charbonnet In Week 4

The Seahawks backfield devolved back into a committee with RB Zach Charbonnet's return for Thursday night's game vs. the Cardinals. But, for the first time in their three games together this season, RB Ken Walker led the way in snaps. It was a slight edge: 50% to 47%. And Charbonnet held a slim lead in routes, 42% to 39%. But Walker was again the more effective runner, averaging 4.3 yards per carry to Charbonnet's 3.3. Walker had explosive runs of 21 and 20 yards, plus a 29-yard catch and run early in the game. Charbonnet did, however, dominate snaps when Seattle got inside Arizona's 10-yard line. He got both official carries inside the 10, scoring a one-yard TD in the second quarter. And he had a seven-yard score in the fourth quarter called back by a holding penalty on WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba. It was a good call, but Charbonnet probably scores even without the hold.

        Zach Charbonnet Active

Seahawks RB Zach Charbonnet (foot) is active for tonight's game vs. the Cardinals. He was a full participant in practice this week but listed as questionable on the final injury report. It's possible that Charbonnet is at least a bit limited tonight coming off the foot injury on a short week, leaving him as a risky Week 4 fantasy start. Check your Team Intel page to see if he makes sense in your starting lineup. The unknown with Charbonnet also gives RB Ken Walker a wide range of outcomes in this one.

Zach Charbonnet Questionable For Week 4

Seahawks RB Zach Charbonnet (foot) is listed as questionable for Thursday night's game vs. the Cardinals. He put in a full week of practice, so we're expecting Charbonnet to play. It's possible, though, that his snaps are limited coming off the foot injury on a short week. We'll look for further updates on Charbonnet's Week 4 outlook. For now, he sits 28th in the RB rankings.

Zach Charbonnet On Track For Week 4 Return

Seahawks RB Zach Charbonnet (foot) was listed as a full participant on Monday's estimated practice report. (The team didn't actually practice.) He missed the Week 3 win over the Saints but "conducted a pretty extensive workout on the field prior to the game," according to The Seattle Times' Bob Condotta. Charbonnet appears on track to return for Thursday night's game vs. the Cardinals. He played slightly more than RB Ken Walker over the first two weeks of the season and figures to make this a committee backfield again in Week 4.

Two End Zone Trips for Kenneth Walker

Seahawks RB Kenneth Walker racked up a pair of short-range TDs in Sunday's blowout win over New Orleans. Those proved critical, as Walker gained only 38 yards on 16 rushes. He added 1 catch for 12 yards on only 10 routes run. Note: Sam Darnold and Drew Lock combined for only 21 pass attempts.

        Zach Charbonnet INACTIVE

Seahawks RB Zach Charbonnet (foot) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Saints. He didn’t practice all week, so this could be a multi-game absence. RB Ken Walker is set for workhorse duties today and is a must-start in season-long fantasy leagues.

Zach Charbonnet Doubtful For Week 3

Seahawks RB Zach Charbonnet (foot) is listed as doubtful for Sunday’s game vs. the Saints. He didn’t practice all week. His absence will turn what has been a split backfield into the Kenneth Walker show. It’s also an ideal spot with the Seahawks 7.5-point home favorites for a middling New Orleans run defense. Walker is a bonafide RB1 in Week 3 fantasy lineups.

        Zach Charbonnet Out Again Thursday

Seahawks RB Zach Charbonnet (foot) missed his second straight practice on Thursday. He's seemingly in real danger of missing this weekend's game vs. the Saints.
