Texans QB C.J. Stroud (concussion) will start Sunday’s game vs. the Colts, HC Demeco Ryans confirmed on Friday. Stroud was a full participant in practice all week. He ranked 15th among QBs in fantasy points per game through Week 8 and gets an improved Indianapolis pass defense that added CB Sauce Gardner and got CB Charvarius Ward back last week. Stroud checks in 15th in the Week 13 QB rankings.

Indianapolis ranks 21st in adjusted fantasy points allowed to QBs but is a tougher matchup after adding CB Sauce Gardner and getting CB Charvarius Ward back. With Houston implied for just 20.25 points, Stroud is only in play in 2-QB and superflex leagues.

Texans RB Woody Marks delivered a decent fantasy outing in Thursday night's win over the Bills. The rookie carried 16 times for 74 yards -- good for 4.6 yards per carry. He broke off a 19-yarder on a pitch off right tackle in the first quarter. Marks couldn't beat S Jordan Poyer to get into the end zone, though, and Houston wound up settling for a FG. Marks ran with good balance and power throughout the night, picking multiple key third and fourth downs. But he failed to get into the end zone and lost five yards on his only catch.

Texans WR Jayden Higgins caught four balls for 38 yards and a TD in Thursday night's win over the Bills. He shook DB Cam Lewis to break free for an eight-yard score with just a few seconds left in the first half. And Higgins came inches from making a few more big plays. He was wide open downfield in the first quarter, but Higgins broke his route to the sideline, while QB Davis Mills expected him to continue upfield. The result was an incompletion on what should have been a big gain. On the very next play, Higgins was just barely unable to get his second foot inbounds for what would have been a 10-yard catch. Then in the second quarter, Higgins had CB Maxwell Hairston beat downfield for a would-be 28-yard TD, but Mills underthrew it.

Texans RB Joe Mixon (foot) is not expected to return this season, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. That's seemed pretty clear for a while now, but it's nice to get confirmation. We still know very little about the offseason foot injury that will evidently cost Mixon the entire 2025 campaign. He's signed with Houston next year, but Rapoport notes that the team can save $8.5 million in cap space by releasing Mixon after the start of the 2026 league year. Mixon will turn 30 in July and is not a must-hold on dynasty rosters. Rookie Woody Marks figures to operate as Houston's clear lead back the rest of the season.

Texans K Ka'imi Fairbairn (quad) put in a full week of practice and is off the final injury report. He'll be back for Thursday night's game vs. the Bills but is a shaky fantasy play with Houston implied for only 18.75 points.

Stroud returned to a limited practice on Tuesday and is expected back for Week 13's game against the Colts. But QB Davis Mills will make his third straight start on Thursday. He's gone 2-0 over the last two, completing 61.6% of his passes at 6.6 yards per attempt. Mills remains just a lower-end QB2 -- but he's certainly not bad news for WR Nico Collins, who has posted 7-136-0 and 9-92-1 lines over the last two games.

One week after scoring 26 unanswered points in a come-from-behind victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Texans' offense had a sluggish day against the AFC South's last-place team. However, one positive takeaway from Houston's unimpressive outing was Woody Marks' second-straight game being utilized as the team's featured back. Marks played 65.7% of Houston's snaps and commanded 18 of the Texans 21 RB carries in their 16-13 vicotry.

Stroud remained sidelined in practice all week, still experiencing concussion symptoms, and was ruled out for today's game on Thursday. We'll track his progress this coming week but are tentatively expecting QB Davis Mills to start against Buffalo.

The Texans have ruled DB Jalen Pitre out for Sunday's game against the Titans because of his concussion. The absence of Houston's slot-coverage guy improves the matchup for Chimere Dike, Tennessee's primary slot WR. He's still a low-level fantasy play, though.

Insider Aaron Wilson confirms that Stroud is still experiencing concussion symptoms and that QB Davis Mills is on track to make his second straight start. Mills tallied a 292-2-1 passing line last week, but it came on 45 attempts in a comeback win over the Jaguars. He completed just 60% of his passes at 6.5 yards per attempt. Mills gets another plus matchup vs. the Titans this weekend, but he's highly unlikely to throw it anywhere close to 45 times. He's just a low-end QB2. Mills targeted WR Nico Collins on 33% of his passes last week, though, so Collins should remain in fantasy lineups as a low-end WR1.
