Arizona Cardinals Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Commanders QB Jacoby Brissett (hamstring) is "unlikely" to play vs. the 49ers today, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. "But the team wants to see how he feels in pre-game warmups before making any decisions," Schefter adds. We'll get Washington's inactives around 11:30 am ET, but it sounds like it'll be QB Sam Howell back under center today. He's been so bad the past two weeks that he's been benched for Brissett. Howell would be tough to trust even as a QB2 in Week 17 fantasy lineups.

Cardinals QB Kyler Murray (illness) is expected to play vs. the Eagles today, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. Murray only got in a limited practice on Friday, but he's unlikely to be impacted by his illness today.

Cardinals QB Kyler Murray (illness) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game vs. the Eagles. He only got in a limited practice on Friday, but HC Jonathan Gannon confirmed that Murray is expected to be ready to go on Sunday. We’ll get Arizona’s inactives for that one around 11:30 am ET.

Jaguars WR Zay Jones (knee, hamstring) was limited in practice all week and is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game vs. the Panthers. Between his injuries and QB C.J. Beathard under center, Jones is not a viable Week 17 fantasy play.

Commanders QB Jacoby Brissett hurt a hamstring in Friday's practice and is now questionable for Sunday's game against the 49ers. We'll have to watch his status through the weekend. No Brissett would mean another start for Sam Howell. The San Francisco matchup hasn't been awful for QB scoring but has certainly been negative. Howell, meanwhile, has been awful over his past three games. He has finished three straight weeks with 127 passing yards or less, getting pulled in each of the past two games. He doesn't belong in any fantasy lineups, and his recent performance would mean bad news for Washington pass-catchers vs. Brissett starting. Watch for rankings updates as the situation becomes clearer.

Broncos Edge Baron Browning missed practice Wednesday and Thursday with a concussion. That makes him look likely to miss Sunday's game against the Chargers. Fortunately for Denver, Edge Nik Bonitto appears to be trending toward returning after missing the past two games. he followed a limited Wednesday workout with a full practice Thursday. Missing Browning won't be good, but the swap shouldn't mean a significant difference for the Broncos team defense in a high-upside matchup with Easton Stick and the Chargers.

Cardinals QB Kyler Murray has missed the first two practices of the week with an illness. It's unlikely to keep him out of this weekend's game vs. the Eagles, but we'll see if Murray gets on the field tomorrow and how he's listed on the final injury report.

Jaguars WR Zay Jones (knee, hamstring) was limited in Wednesday's practice. We're currently projecting him to play vs. the Panthers on Sunday but will track his status over the next few days.

The Commanders named QB Jacoby Brissett the Week 17 starter. Brissett has provided a spark over the past two weeks, totaling 224 yards and 3 TDs on a 78.3% completion rate. We’re not excited about the former Colt as a fantasy starter – especially against the 49ers. But Brissett raises the outlook for Washington’s WR corps, most notably Terry McLaurin. See where he and Brissett sit in our updated Week 17 rankings.

Cardinals WR Greg Dortch (shoulder) is active for today’s game vs. the Bears. He only got in a limited practice on Friday and would be very tough to trust in fantasy lineups.

        2:36pm UTC 12/24/23

Jaguars WR Zay Jones (knee, hamstring) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Bucs. His absence leaves Parker Washington and Jamal Agnew as Jacksonville's likely secondary WRs. WR Calvin Ridley and TE Evan Engram should dominate targets today.

Jaguars WR Zay Jones (knee, hamstring) is not expected to play vs. the Bucs today, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. We've had Jones projected out all week. His absence leaves Parker Washington and Jamal Agnew as Jacksonville's likely secondary WRs. WR Calvin Ridley and TE Evan Engram should dominate targets today.

Cardinals WR Greg Dortch (shoulder) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game vs. the Bears. He only got in a limited practice on Friday. Dortch can’t be trusted in fantasy lineups if he ends up playing. His absence would leave Michael Wilson, Rondale Moore, and Zach Pascal as Arizona’s top three WRs.

Jaguars WR Zay Jones (knee, hamstring) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game vs. the Bucs. He only got in a limited practice on Friday. We’re not expecting Jones to play but will look for further updates on his status. We won’t get Jacksonville’s inactives until a little after 2:30 pm ET on Sunday.

Jaguars HC Doug Pederson labeled WR Zay Jones "day-to-day" with the hamstring injury he suffered in Sunday night's loss to the Ravens. It sounds like Jones dodged a serious injury, but fantasy owners can't be counting on him to play Week 16. With WR Christian Kirk also out, Jacksonville could be down to WRs Parker Washington, Jamal Agnew, Tim Jones, and Elijah Cooks behind Calvin Ridley. Ridley and TE Evan Engram should dominate targets vs. the Bucs on Sunday. We'll see whether they're catching passes from QB Trevor Lawrence (concussion) or QB C.J. Beathard.

Jaguars WR Zay Jones injured his left hamstring in the fourth quarter of Sunday night's game vs. the Ravens. He's been playing through a right knee injury. Jones is officially questionable to return to this one, but we doubt we see him again. We'll track his status this coming week.

Cardinals TE Trey McBride finished Week 15 vs. the 49ers with 10 catches on 11 targets for 102 receiving yards. The second-year pass-catcher has been nothing short of dominant over the past several weeks. Since QB Kyler Murray returned to play in Week 10, McBride leads all TEs in receptions (7.3) and receiving yards (85) per game and ranks second in PPR points per game (17.3). In that span of five games, he’s also dipped below 60 receiving yards in a game just one time. There’s no doubt that McBride belongs entrenched in fantasy lineups the rest of the way.

Cardinals WR Michael Wilson (neck) was limited in practice all week and is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game vs. the 49ers. The rookie has been out since Week 10 and couldn’t be trusted in season-long fantasy lineups if he plays on Sunday.

Cardinals RB James Conner dropped 105 rushing yards and 2 scores on Pittsburgh. He handled 25 carries against his former team, the second most of his career. Rainy conditions (Sunday's game was delayed twice) and a surprise 14-point victory helped Conner handle all but 4 team RB carries. He drew 2 targets (0 catches), but it's worth noting that he topped Michael Carter in routes, 15-4. Week 14 turns up a well-earned bye. An elite 49ers defense awaits following the rest.

Cardinals S Jalen Thompson (ribs) is active for today's game against the Steelers. He entered the day questionable but should be fine to use as planned in your IDP lineups.
