Texans WR Brandin Cooks saw just 6 targets and caught 4 balls for 20 yards in Sunday's win over the Texans. The 6 looks did constitute 25% of Davis Mills' 24 attempts for the game. Cooks' biggest issue was Houston going run heavy (31 rushing attempts vs. 25 dropbacks). WR Nico Collins matched Cooks in targets and receptions, gaining 65 yards on his 4 catches. A Week 6 bye will be followed by a visit to the Raiders and then a home date with the Titans.
Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb (groin) is active for today’s game vs. the Rams. He sat out Thursday’s practice but returned to a limited workout on Friday. There have been no reports about Lamb being limited today, so we’d keep him in fantasy lineups.
Cowboys RB Tony Pollard (illness) is active for today’s game vs. the Rams. We’re expecting him to play his usual role behind RB Ezekiel Elliott.
Cowboys RB Tony Pollard (illness) is expected to play vs. the Rams today, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. He popped up on the injury report on Friday and did not practice, but we're not expecting Pollard's role or effectiveness to be impacted today.
Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb (groin) is expected to play vs. the Rams this afternoon, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. Lamb was sidelined on Thursday before returning to a limited practice on Friday. That adds some risk to his Week 5 fantasy profile, but there's still plenty of upside vs. a Rams defense that's struggled against the pass early this season.
NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports that Cowboys QB Dak Prescott is a "long shot" to return for the Week 6 game against the Eagles. Prescott would reportedly need to make "significant strides" early this week to have a chance to play in that game. The original return timeline from his thumb surgery was 4-6 weeks. Today marks 4 weeks since the initial injury. We'll keep watching for updates on Prescott's return. For now, expect Cooper Rush to remain the starter through at least Week 6.
Cowboys RB Tony Pollard (illness) is questionable for this weekend's game vs. the Rams. He popped up on the injury report on Friday and did not practice. Players usually play through illnesses, but stay tuned to Shark Bites for further updates on Pollard's Week 5 status.
Cowboys QB Dak Prescott (thumb) is out for Sunday’s game vs. the Rams. He remained sidelined in practice all week, reportedly still having trouble gripping the football. We’ll see if Prescott can make it back for Week 6, which always seemed like the best-case scenario. QB Cooper Rush gets another start on Sunday.
Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb put in a limited practice Friday after sitting out Thursday with a groin issue. Jon Machota of The Athletic reports that Lamb had an MRI "to make sure it wasn't anything significant" and got "good results." Lamb is officially questionable for Sunday's game against the Rams, but Machota says he's expected to play. Plan on using Lamb in your fantasy football lineups, but try to secure an insurance option in case he turns up inactive.
Cowboys WR Ceedee Lamb sat out Thursday's practice with a groin issue, but it doesn't sound like he's in danger of missing Sunday's game against the Rams. "I'm fine. I'm good. I don't want to scare nobody," he said, per Yahoo's Jori Epstein. We'll watch for his Friday status.
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones admitted Tuesday that QB Dak Prescott (thumb) still can't grip the football well enough to play. That sure doesn't sound like a guy who will be ready to start an NFL game on Sunday. Look for QB Cooper Rush to be under center again vs. the Rams. We'll see if Prescott can make it back for Week 6
Texans WR Brandin Cooks caught all 7 targets for 57 yards and a score in Sunday's loss to the Chargers. It was nice fantasy efficiency after an erratic start to the season. He'll get a potentially challenging matchup with the Jaguars before a Week 6 bye.
Cowboys WR Ceedee Lamb led the team in targets (8), receptions (6) and yards (97) and caught 1 of Cooper Rush's 2 TD passes in Sunday's win over the Commanders. That marked a 29.6% share of Rush's total pass attempts. WR Noah Brown (6) was the only other Cowboy to see more than 3 targets. He caught 3 balls for 61 yards before leaving with a neck injury. WR Michael Gallup made his season debut -- coming off the ACL tear at the end of last year -- and posted a 2-24-1 line on 3 targets. TE Dalton Schultz played through the knee issue that cost him Week 3 and caught none of his 3 targets.
Cowboys S Jayron Kearse (knee) is inactive for the 3rd straight game. That leaves Donovan Wilson as a strong starter against a pass-leaning Washington offense that arrives as an underdog.
Cowboys WR Michael Gallup (knee) is officially active for today’s game vs. the Commanders. He’s been a full participant in practice the past 2 weeks, but it’s still unclear how big a role he’ll play in his 1st game since last January’s torn ACL. Try to leave Gallup on fantasy benches this week. WR Jalen Tolbert is a healthy scratch for Dallas.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Cowboys QB Dak Prescott is "eyeing" next week's game against the Rams for a "possible" return from his thumb injury. We'll certainly be tracking the QB's status throughout the week. The combo of surgery on his throwing thumb and a good defense on the other side of that matchup would have us wary of playing Prescott in fantasy football lineups right away.
Cowboys S Jayron Kearse is questionable for Sunday's game against the Commanders. He missed the past 2 games with a knee sprain but returned to practice this week. If Kearse can't go, then S Donovan Wilson becomes an IDP lineup consideration in his place.
Cowboys WR Michael Gallup (knee) is not listed on the final injury report after a full week of practice. He's set to make his 2022 debut vs. Washington on Sunday. It's unclear if Gallup will play a full slate of snaps in his 1st game since the torn ACL, though, so we'd leave him on fantasy benches this week.
Cowboys S Jayron Kearse has put in 2 straight limited practices this week, his 1st action since spraining his left MCL in the opener. If Kearse is ready to return to the starting lineup for Sunday's game against Washington, it would likely mean a large decrease in playing time for S Donovan Wilson. We'll see about Kearse's game status after Friday's workout.
Cowboys QB Dak Prescott had the stitches removed from his surgically repaired thumb but still has swelling, HC Mike McCarthy said Tuesday. Once that subsides, Prescott will need to regain strength in the thumb. Then he can resume throwing. “I do not have a timeline for when he will start throwing," McCarthy admitted. Prescott and the team have been overly optimistic about his return timeline recently. We still think Week 6 is his earliest possible return.
