Las Vegas Raiders Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

The Raiders have reached a deal with QB Marcus Mariota, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Mariota will back up QB Derek Carr, which doesn't help his fantasy outlook as much as landing in Chicago would have. But Carr doesn't look like the most secure starter in the league. Oakland's not a terrible spot. Still just 26 until Oct. 30, Mariota also likely has at least 1 more NFL contract beyond this one.

The Raiders have agreed to a 3-year, $21 million deal with LB Nick Kwiatkoski. The former Bear started 8 games for Chicago last season, filling in for each of the team's ILB starters at different points. He steps into a starting job in an Oakland LB corps with lots of tackles available. Tahir Whitehead is gone after leading the team with 108 tackles (79 solo) last season.

The Cardinals have used their transition tag on RB Kenyan Drake. The move means Drake can negotiate with other teams as a free agent, but Arizona has the right to match any offer. We'll see where this goes, but it's mostly likely that Drake remains with the Cardinals in 2020. He was awesome after arriving from Miami last year, averaging 80.4 rushing yards per game on 5.2 yards per carry -- plus 3.5 catches and 21.4 receiving yards per game. Drake ranked 4th among RBs in PPR points across those 8 games.

The Raiders have signed RB Jalen Richard to an undisclosed contract, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Richard was set to hit free agency in March but will remain with the team that he's spent all 4 of his NFL seasons with. Richard has totaled 160 catches as a pro, including 36 this past year. DeAndre Washington stepped in as the lead back when RB Josh Jacobs was sidelined in 2019 -- but Washington will be a free agent next month. That could leave Richard as Jacobs' handcuff in 2020.

Raiders TE Darren Waller underwent thumb surgery on Monday, HC Jay Gruden said. We don't have a recovery timeline, but this shouldn't impact Waller's 2020. The 2019 breakout finished 2nd among TEs in PPR points and 4th in non-PPR.

Raiders RB Josh Jacobs (shoulder, illness) has been downgraded to out for Sunday's game against the Broncos. DeAndre Washington gets another game as Oakland's lead back. He's compiled 202 yards and 2 TDs in 2 games without Jacobs this year.

Raiders RB Josh Jacobs (shoulder) is "unlikely" to play against the Broncos this weekend, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Oakland still has an outside shot at the playoffs with a win over Denver, but it'll again be DeAndre Washington as the lead back. He's racked up 37 carries and 10 targets in 2 games without Jacobs this season.

Update: Jacobs is listed as doubtful.

Raiders RB Josh Jacobs' leg surgery was to treat a "superficial skin infection," the team announced on Thursday. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport hears that the procedure was "relatively minor" and is not expected to impact his availability for this weekend's game against the Broncos. Jacobs, of course, is still iffy for that one because of his fractured shoulder.

Raiders RB Josh Jacobs posted videos of himself in a hospital gown and with a bandage on his lower leg on Wednesday night. “Surgery went great fastest surgery ever," the rookie wrote. We don't have any other details on the situation right now. But between the surgery and his lingering shoulder injury, Jacobs seems unlikely to play in Sunday's finale against the Broncos.

Raiders RB Jalen Richard suffered an ankle injury in the 1st half of Sunday's game against the Chargers and is officially questionable to return. His absence means more work for RB DeAndre Washington.

Update: Richard returned late in the 2nd quarter.

Raiders WR Hunter Renfrow (rib) practiced all week and will return for Sunday’s game against the Chargers. The rookie is a low-upside PPR play.

Raiders RB Josh Jacobs will miss Sunday's game against the Chargers because of his shoulder injury, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. That makes DeAndre Washington a solid RB2 for fantasy football lineups. Washington tallied 96 total yards in the Week 14 loss to Tennessee with Jacobs inactive. That included 6 catches on 7 targets, both well above Jacobs' receiving usage this season. The Chargers hit Week 16 ranked 23rd in run defense by Football Outsiders and 17th in pass coverage vs. RBs.

Raiders HC Jon Gruden admitted that RB Josh Jacobs' status for Week 16 and beyond is "in question." Jacobs battled through his shoulder injury in the loss to Jacksonville, carrying 24 times for 89 yards and catching 2 of 3 targets for 30 yards. But it sounds like the Raiders are considering shutting the rookie down now that they've been eliminated from playoff contention. We'll keep an eye on the situation this week, but RB DeAndre Washington should be owned in all leagues. He'd be in the RB2 mix for Week 16 if Jacobs sits.

Raiders S Erik Harris (hamstring) is active for today's game against the Jaguars. Use him as you normally would in your IDP lineups.

Raiders RB Josh Jacobs (shoulder) is active for today’s game against the Jaguars. He was limited in practice all week, but both HC Jon Gruden and OC Greg Olson said the rookie looked good. There’s obviously elevated risk to a guy playing through a fractured shoulder. But Jacobs has reportedly been dealing with the injury since Week 7. And this matchup is pristine.

Raiders RB Josh Jacobs is questionable with the shoulder injury that kept him out last week, but NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that he's "good to go" for today's game against the Jaguars. The matchup gives Jacobs a high ceiling and should put him into nearly all fantasy football lineups where he's owned.

Raiders S Erik Harris is questionable for Sunday's game against the Jaguars. He popped up on Thursday's injury report with a hamstring injury that continued to limit him Friday. We'll see about Harris when the inactives come out Sunday afternoon.

Raiders RB Josh Jacobs (shoulder) is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Jaguars after a limited week of practice. HC Jon Gruden wouldn’t commit to Jacobs playing on Friday but did say the rookie “looked good” this week. We’ll look for an update on Jacobs’ status on Sunday morning. Jaguars-Raiders doesn’t kick off until 4:05 pm ET. DeAndre Washington will be a RB2 play if Jacobs ends up inactive.

Raiders WR Hunter Renfrow (rib) is out for this weekend’s game against the Jaguars. That’s good news for TE Darren Waller, who’s seen 15 targets over the past 2 weeks with Renfrow out.

Raiders RB Josh Jacobs (shoulder) put in his 2nd straight limited practice on Thursday. OC Greg Olson said Jacobs "looked great." Although HC Jon Gruden won't commit to the rookie playing against the Jaguars this weekend, it seems to be trending in that direction. We'll get another update tomorrow.
