D.K. Metcalf Checked for Internal Injuries After Ravens Game

Steelers WR D.K. Metcalf stayed overnight in Baltimore after being checked into a local hospital with stomach pain. There was fear of internal injuries after taking a hard shot in the Steelers Ravens game on Sunday. Ultimately, it was done out of an adbundance of caution and he was released to fly back to Pittsburgh today.

Adam Thielen Will Play Week 17

Panthers WR Adam Thielen (hamstring) is not listed on the final Week 17 injury report. He was added on Thursday and limited in practice but was able to get in another limited practice on Friday. Thielen is evidently in no danger of missing this weekend’s game vs. the Buccaneers, and we should expect him to be ready for his usual role.

Adam Thielen Added To Thursday's Injury Report

Panthers WR Adam Thielen was added to the injury report with a hamstring and limited in practice on Thursday. That likely means Thielen hurt the hamstring today, which would put his availability for Sunday's game vs. the Buccaneers in question. Check back tomorrow for an update on Thielen's status for that one.

Adam Thielen Will Play Week 12, Jalen Coker Questionable

Panthers WR Adam Thielen (hamstring) was limited in practice all week and is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game vs. the Chiefs. HC Dave Canales said Friday, though, that Thielen will play. He’d be a desperation fantasy start against Kansas City’s 10th-ranked WR defense. WR Jalen Coker (quad) was added to the injury report and did not practice on Friday. He’s listed as questionable and should not be in Week 12 fantasy lineups.

Adam Thielen Doubtful, Xavier Legette Questionable For Week 9

Panthers WR Adam Thielen (hamstring) is listed as doubtful for this weekend's game vs. the Saints. He put in limited practices on Wednesday and Thursday but did not practice on Friday. It's unclear if he suffered a setback or just took Friday off in preparation for a Week 10 return. WR Xavier Legette, meanwhile, is questionable for Sunday's game with a toe injury. He was added to the injury report on Thursday and limited again on Friday. That leaves Jalen Coker, David Moore, and Jonathan Mingo as Carolina's top three healthy WRs.

Diontae Johnson & Adam Thielen Out For Week 8

Panthers WRs Diontae Johnson (rib) and Adam Thielen (hamstring) have been ruled out for Sunday's game vs. the Broncos. Johnson has been battling multiple injuries throughout the season. It's not the worst thing in the world that he's missing this game against stud CB Patrick Surtain with QB Bryce Young under center. We'll see if Johnson makes it back for Week 9. Thielen just returned to practice this week after coming off IR and isn't ready for game action yet. The Panthers will trot out Xavier Legette, Jalen Coker, Jonathan Mingo, and David Moore as their top four WRs this weekend. They'll struggle to score points.

Adam Thielen Heading to Injured Reserve

Panthers WR Adam Thielen suffered a hamstring injury during the Panthers' win against the Raiders. The team is placing him on injured reserve, meaning Thielen will miss at least the next four games, eligible to return for Week 8's contest against the Denver Broncos.

Adam Thielen productive again in loss

Panthers WR Adam Thielen snagged 7 receptions for 76 yards in Sunday's loss to the Vikings. He trailed Terrace Marshall in targets (10-8) and catches but led the team in receiving yards. It was Thielen's third straight game with at least 7 receptions, despite two straight QB switches thanks to Bryce Young's ankle injury (and return). Thielen should remain a WR3 option for visits to Detroit and Miami the next two weeks. We'll see whether the team adds anyone significant at the position. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that Carolina is shopping for WR help. D.J. Chark managed just 2 receptions for 28 yards on 3 targets against the Vikings.

Bryce Young ready for Week 4

Panthers QB Bryce Young (ankle) put in a full week of practice and isn't listed on the final injury report. He'll be back under center for Sunday's game vs. the Vikings. Young has mustered just 4.2 yards per attempt so far this season and is just a low-end QB2 for Week 4, despite the plus matchup. Consider Young a slight downgrade from QB Andy Dalton for Carolina's pass catchers.

Adam Thielen questionable for Week 1

Panthers WR Adam Thielen (ankle) is listed as questionable for this weekend's opener vs. the Falcons. He got in limited practices on Wednesday and Friday. It's unclear if this is load management for the 33-year-old or if the ankle is a legitimate problem. We'll look for an update on Thielen's situation on Sunday morning. WR Terrace Marshall (back) is not listed on the final injury report after putting in a full practice on Friday.

        D.J. Chark has hamstring injury

Panthers WR D.J. Chark is sidelined with a hamstring injury, according to The Athletic's Joe Person. HC Frank Reich declined to give a timetable for Chark's return but said the team isn't planning any “big moves” at the position. Carolina is also without WRs Terrace Marshall (back), Laviska Shenault (concussion), and Damiere Byrd (hamstring). That's left Jonathan Mingo and Adam Thielen as the clear top two healthy receivers. We'll see when these other guys are able to get back on the field.

        Key 3rd season for Marshall

Speaking at OTAs, Panthers HC Frank Reich gave his thoughts on 3rd-year WR Terrace Marshall. “We saw that last year with the reps that he got, the catches that he had, the big plays that he had. He shows that capacity to be a big-play guy,” Reich said. “The next step with every player is just more reps, more plays, more confidence where it’s like, ‘Hey, give me the ball.’” Marshall spent part of the offseason working with Mo Wells, a former LSU sprinter who also trains Tee Higgins and Ja’Marr Chase. The goal was to build muscle with the hopes of avoiding injuries that’ve slowed his development. Still only 23, Marshall isn’t a name to forget in dynasty leagues. But it’s clear the Panthers’ new staff isn’t expecting much after adding Adam Thielen, D.J. Chark, and Round 2 WR Jonathan Mingo.
