Falcons lock up Koo

The Falcons have agreed to a 5-year, $24.25 million deal with K Younghoe Koo -- including $11.5 million guaranteed -- according to Jeff Howe of The Athletic. Koo has hit 64 of 68 FG attempts over the past 2 seasons and led the NFL in made FGs in 2020 despite missing a game. No word yet on who besides TE Kyle Pitts will actually help Atlanta get into FG range in 2022.

Falcons K Younghoe Koo (groin) put in a full practice on Wednesday, putting him on track to return for this weekend's game vs. the Panthers. Koo is a solid fantasy play, with Atlanta sporting the 8th-highest implied total on the week at 28.25 points.

The Falcons signed K Elliott Fry. He'll replace K Younghoe Koo (groin) for at least Monday night's game against the Packers. Fry is a fine Week 4 replacement for Koo owners.

Falcons K Younghoe Koo played through a groin strain in Sunday's loss to the Bears but is expected to "miss some time" going forward, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. The team reportedly might consider short-term IR for Koo. Expect a kicker tryout and/or signing before practice starts for Atlanta this week.

The Chargers have cut K Younghoe Koo. He connected of just 3 of 6 FG attempts, although all 3 of his misses came in the first 2 weeks. Los Angeles has signed K Nick Novak to replace Koo. The 36-year-old made 85.4% of his FG attempts for Houston last year and will be a spot-start option in plus matchups.

The Chargers are sticking with K Younghoe Koo, HC Anthony Lynn said Monday. The rookie missed the would-have-been game-winning 44-yard FG on Sunday. He missed a 43-yarder earlier in the game and had a 44-yarder blocked in the opener. Koo's leash can't be very long at this point. Find a safer option for your Week 3 fantasy lineups.
