The Ravens have placed RB Gus Edwards (ACL) on the Reserve/PUP list. That means he'll miss at least the 1st 4 games of the regular season. His absence leaves room for J.K. Dobbins to operate as likely the clear backfield leader at least early in the season. We wouldn't be surprised, though, if Baltimore avoids overworking Dobbins off his own ACL tear. Mike Davis currently appears headed for the #2 RB role early in the year, though we'll see how that sorts out over the next couple of weeks.
Ravens RB Gus Edwards will be "partially ready" for next week's minicamp, HC John Harbaugh said. Edwards played in just nine games last year after his 2021 ACL tear and subsequent hamstring injury. But he played in the final seven regular-season games and Baltimore's playoff loss, so it's unclear what's ailing him now. "No setback," Harbaugh said. "Maybe they're being a little cautious, but that's what they're doing." Harbaugh added that Edwards should be "fully ready" come training camp, but his health is worth monitoring this summer.
Ravens RB Gus Edwards (concussion) cleared the league's protocol and doesn't carry an injury designation for Sunday's Wild Card game vs. the Bengals. This would be a pretty good spot for Ravens RBs in a world where QB Lamar Jackson was healthy and under center. The Bengals' defense ranks 22nd in Football Outsiders' run defense DVOA over their last 4 games. Unfortunately, the offense isn't as strong with QB Tyler Huntley or rookie QB Anthony Brown as the starter. Edwards is a ho-hum RB2 that would need to find the end zone to really pay off for fantasy purposes. There are likely better options available for playoff contests.
