Playing all 81 snaps in Week 1, Bengals WR Ja’Marr Chase racked up 16 targets, 10 catches, 129 yards and 1 score. The monster line came against Pittsburgh in a game that lasted until the end of overtime. Tee Higgins also departed in the 1st half with a concussion. As we saw last year, Chase was electric with the ball in his hands, dodging several tacklers and showing top-end burst. He also had 2 near TDs that didn’t count: One where he likely crossed the goal line but HC Zac Taylor decided not to challenge, the other on a sweet one-handed grab where he couldn’t quite get his 2nd foot down. Chase will look to keep rolling next week against Dallas.
Bengals WR Ja’Marr Chase logged 5 catches on 9 targets for 39 receiving yards in Sunday’s 24-3 loss vs. the Browns. His teammate Tee Higgins recorded zero catches on 8 targets in Week 1. HC Zac Taylor spoke optimistically following the contest, saying, “This isn’t the team that we are going to be. We all understand that,” per The Athletic’s Paul Dehner Jr. Fantasy managers looking to get more in Week 2 vs. the Ravens sure hope so. Chase came close to double-digit PPR points, but Higgins being completely shut out is the biggest concern. We’ll hold off on getting too worried, however. QB Joe Burrow struggled to hold onto the football due to wet conditions and eventually had to wear a glove on his hand. There are assuredly brighter days ahead for the Cincinnati offense.
Bengals WR Ja’Marr Chase tallied 5 catches, 61 yards and 1 score in Sunday’s win over Buffalo. That makes 5 straight games with a TD for the former LSU star. Chase scored in the 1st quarter on blown coverage. Later, he appeared to score in the back of the end zone, but upon review, refs determined that he didn’t complete the catch. Chase now hits the road to face Kansas City in the AFC Championship game.
Bengals WR Ja'Marr Chase logged 7 catches on 13 targets for 60 yards, leading all Bengals receivers in those categories in Sunday's win over the Buccaneers. Chase also found the end zone in Week 15, in addition to teammates Tyler Boyd, Tee Higgins, and TE Mitchell Wilcox. Both Boyd and Higgins wound up with 5 catches apiece. While no one besides Chase cracked the 50-yard mark (Boyd with 35 yards, Higgins with 33), fantasy managers who rolled out these Bengals WRs had their days saved by TDs. Next week brings a tough matchup against the Patriots, who rank 7th in adjusted fantasy points allowed to WRs. Still consider Chase a top-5 option, but Higgins is more of a low-end WR2, and Boyd a flex candidate in Week 16.
Bengals WR Ja'Marr Chase had an understandably busy day in Sunday's win over the Browns, with Tyler Boyd leaving early and Tee Higgins limited by an injury he suffered in pregame warmups. Chase claimed 45.5% of Bengals targets (15), 55.6% of receptions (10) and 49.8% of receiving yards (119). Chase also snagged 1 of QB Joe Burrow's 2 TD throws. The other went to WR Trenton Irwin, on a 45-yard flea flicker. Cincinnati visits the Buccaneers in Week 15.
Bengals WR Ja'Marr Chase returned from 4 games off for a hip injury to lead the Bengals in targets (8), receptions (7) and receiving yards (97) in Sunday's win over the Chiefs. Chase now gets his 1st matchup this year with a Browns team that limited him to 6-49 receiving among 13 targets in their lone full meeting last year. (Chase played just 9 snaps in the regular-season finale, when Cincinnati benched most starters after clinching.)
