Drake leads limited backfield effort vs. Panthers

The Ravens managed just 115 yards on 30 rushing attempts in Sunday's win over the Panthers. Kenyan Drake led the RBs with 10 carries for 46 yards, adding 2 catches for 7 yards among 4 targets. Justice Hill rushed 7 times for 30 yards and caught all 3 of his targets for 8 yards. No other RB touched the ball. We'd bet on Gus Edwards (hamstring) being ready for next Sunday's visit to Jacksonville.

Ravens RB Kenyan Drake is a healthy scratch for today's game vs. the Browns. Baltimore will roll with RBs J.K. Dobbins, Gus Edwards and Justice Hill.

With J.K. Dobbins headed for knee surgery, ESPN's Jamison Hensley says the Ravens "will rely on Kenyan Drake." He adds that Justice Hill "is back" for this week's game against the Browns and that Gus Edwards "could also be activated" from the PUP ahead of the game. But it sounds like we should expect Drake to run 1st in the backfield for at least Week 7. That's enough to make him the best bet for fantasy football rosters right now, with the understanding that this is a fluid situation.

Ravens RB Kenyan Drake took his team-high 10 carries for 119 yards in Sunday's loss to the Giants, highlighted by a 30-yard TD run. Drake garnered some extra work because RB J.K. RB Kenyan Drake is signing with the Ravens, according to insider Jordan Schultz. Drake was dumped by HC Josh McDaniels and the new Raiders regime a little over a week ago. He turns 29 in January and, while he remained effective as a pass catcher last year, he averaged just 4.0 yards per carry and ranked 42nd among 77 qualifying RBs in Pro Football Focus' rushing grades. Drake is an insurance policy for a Ravens team still waiting for RBs J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards to get over their 2021 knee injuries. We'll see whether Dobbins is ready for Week 1. If not, the Ravens figure to roll with Drake and Mike Davis.
