Nathaniel 'Tank' Dell goes off

Texans rookie WR Nathaniel ‘Tank’ Dell had himself a day with a team-leading 5 catches on 7 targets for 145 yards in Week 3 vs. the Jaguars. Teammates Nico Collins and Robert Woods struggled in this contest, each recording 34 receiving yards apiece on a combined 5 catches. These results are certainly disappointing for fantasy managers. The good news, however, is that this Houston offense seems pretty darn good with QB C.J. Stroud at the helm. Despite leading the whole game, the Texans chucked the ball 30 times. That type of continued passing volume is fantastic to see for fantasy managers. This will be an exciting unit to watch next week vs. the Steelers.

Texans GM Nick Caserio said WR Tank Dell is “doing great” after suffering a “minor” gunshot wound last week. Dell was released from the hospital the day after the incident and has been "in and out of the building” since. Dell's 2023 season ended on December 3 with a fractured fibula. But it sounds like he'll be back to 100% at least in time for the start of training camp. Dell faces increased target competition this season with the addition of WR Stefon Diggs, but he's fairly priced at his WR25 Underdog ADP.

Texans WR Tank Dell was shot in Sanford, Florida on Saturday night, the team announced. Dell suffered a "minor wound" and has already been released from the hospital. We'll look for further updates on Dell's status, but it sounds like he luckily dodged anything that would impact his 2024 season.

Texans WR Tank Dell expects to be able to participate in the team's offseason program, according to insider Aaron Wilson. Dell's rookie season ended with a fractured fibula in early December, but the injury shouldn't be an issue for his 2024 fantasy value. Dell was brilliant before that injury, ranking 12th among WRs in PPR points per game. His 2.22 yards per route run ranked 16th among 80 qualifying WRs and third among 14 qualifying rookie WRs. Texans WR Tank Dell underwent surgery on his fractured fibula on Monday and will miss the rest of the season, HC Demeco Ryans said. Ryans added that Dell should be ready for the start of the offseason program, so this injury shouldn't impact his 2024 fantasy outlook. Dell averaged 8.4 targets, 5.1 catches, 77.3 yards, and 0.9 TDs in eight games with a snap rate north of 50%. His 2.24 yards per route run ranks 15th among 69 WRs with 40+ targets -- and third among 12 rookie WRs with 40+ targets. Tied to QB C.J. Stroud, Dell looks like a WR2 target in 2024 fantasy drafts and a top-25 dynasty WR.
