Texans DE Denico Autry has been suspended six games for violating the NFL policy against performance-enhancing drugs. Autry was slated to start on the DL for the Texans.
Autry: "It was important to me that the NFL know that I did not intentionally or even knowingly ingest a banned substance."
Autry was a likely starter for the Texans along their DL to give a pass rush push up the middle. An already thin position for the Texans, this will force them to have to dig deeper on the depth chart to replace Autry.
This eliminates Autry from IDP consideration, where he was a borderline pick to begin with, depending on your league scoring.
The Texans are now pretty thin along their DL, and that could make them a defense worth noting when playing match-ups at the RB position.
Though Autry was did not grade highly against the run (52.0 run defense PFF grade last year), back-ups Tim Settle Jr, Khalil Davis, and Mario Edwards Jr. have little to no NFL experience.
Keep an eye on the Texans defense early as they may be more exploitable than the general public thinks in terms of defensive strength.
