Raiders Sign Geno Smith Through 2027

Geno Smith Headshot

The Raiders and QB Geno Smith have agreed to a two-year, $85.5 million extension with $66.5 million guaranteed, according to multiple reports. That tacks on to the final year of Smith's current deal to keep him signed in Vegas through the 2027 season. Smith will be 37 when this contract expires.

2025 Fantasy Football Impact

Smith was safe as Vegas' 2025 starter after the team dealt a third-round pick for him in March, so there's little impact to his short-term fantasy value.

He remained one of the most accurate QBs in the league last year, posting a 70.4% completion rate after connecting on 67.5% of his passes over the previous three seasons. Smith ranks third among 51 qualifying QBs in completion rate over the last four years; 12th in yards per attempt.

His weaponry in Vegas might not be as strong as it was in Seattle last year. But TE Brock Bowers and WR Jakobi Meyers should be enough for Smith to at least be a valuable QB2. And he could be a viable QB1 spot starter.

Dynasty Impact

We'll see if there are any outs in Smith's new deal with the Raiders, but he now seems likely to start multiple seasons for the team. That obviously boosts his dynasty value, particularly in superflex leagues.

You're playing from behind if Smith is your QB1, but he should be just fine as a QB2 for the next 2-3 seasons.
