Bills WR Brandin Cooks tallied a game-high 101 yards on 4 catches in Sunday's loss to the Eagles. His six targets ranked second on the team and doubled his previous high through four games with the Bills. Cooks saw his largest playing-time share since arriving in Buffalo but remained in a heavy WR rotation.
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
Five WRs ran at least 15 routes for Buffalo in Sunday's loss. Here's how they ranked in route rate (among 42 Josh Allen dropbacks):
- Khalil Shakir 92.9%
- Tyrell Shavers 57.1%
- Joshua Palmer 54.8%
- Cooks 52.4%
- Gabe Davis 35.7%
(WR Keon Coleman was a healthy scratch once again.)
Shakir led the group in targets (seven), catching six for 35 yards. Shavers caught two of three targets for 36 yards. Palmer added 1 catch for 12 yards among two targets. Davis' lone target went incomplete.
Perhaps Cooks' day marks the start of greater involvement going forward, but it'll be tough to bet on a repeat in Week 18 given that playing-time spread. Further complicating things is the possibility Buffalo rests starters with only a slight seed boost (from seventh currently for a high of fifth) at stake.
We'll see whether the Week 18 usage offers any hints about Buffalo's WR hierarchy for the playoffs.
Dynasty Impact
This has been a horrible season for Keon Coleman's long-term outlook. He's probably worth hanging onto at least through this offseason to see whether there's any big turnaround. He's sellable if you get a worthwhile offer, though.
It's also tough to see much long-term value in the rest of Buffalo's non-Shakir receivers.
Shavers presents some modest intrigue. He has gone from undrafted free agent on the practice squad in 2023 to making the active roster last year and then logging eight starts among 16 games so far this season.
Shavers has totaled just 15 receptions for the year to date with spotty opportunity. But his playing time picked up late in the year.
Palmer was the unit's biggest addition last offseason. But his three-year, $29 million contract looks like even more of a mistake now than it did when he signed it.
Cooks is 32.
Davis has tallied just 7 catches across five appearances in his second Bills stint, mixing in a pair of healthy scratches.
I'll be surprised if there's not at least one significant WR addition ahead of the 2026 season.
