49ers QB Sam Darnold will start Sunday's regular-season finale vs. the Rams, HC Kyle Shanahan announced Wednesday. QB Brock Purdy will join RB Christian McCaffrey on the sidelines for that one after San Francisco locked up the NFC's No. 1 seed. WR Deebo Samuel, WR Brandon Aiyuk, and TE George Kittle are unlikely to play much, if at all, against the Rams.

49ers QB Brock Purdy (left shoulder) was a full-go in Wednesday's practice. He was reportedly cleared to return to Monday night's game and will be ready for this weekend's game vs. the Commanders' 32nd-ranked QB defense.

49ers QB Brock Purdy suffered a stinger in the fourth quarter of Monday night's game vs. the Ravens. He's been cleared to return, according to ESPN's Lisa Salters, but Purdy has remained on the sidelines with San Francisco trailing by 14. We'll look for more info on Purdy's status, but it sounds like we should expect him to be available for Week 17's game vs. the Commanders.

Niners QB Brock Purdy threw for 314 yards and 4 TDs in Sunday's lopsided win at Philadelphia. He hit Brandon Aiyuk, Jauan Jennings, and Deebo Samuel (twice) for scores. It marked the fourth time in the past five games that Purdy threw for at least 296 yards (third game over 300) and the third game among the past four with at least 3 TD passes. Sunday's game marked a rebound from his QB25 fantasy finish in Week 12 against the Seahawks. Purdy gets a rematch with Seattle in Week 14, but we're not downgrading him. Two of the past four QBs to face the Seahawks have thrown 3 TD passes and finished among the top 3 fantasy QBs for the week. After that comes even better matchups with the Cardinals and Commanders in weeks 15 and 17, sandwiching a tough Week 16 spot vs. Baltimore.

49ers QB Brock Purdy went off for 333 yards and 3 TDs in Sunday's win over Tampa Bay. He posted a perfect 158.3 QB rating while spreading scores to Brandon Aiyuk, George Kittle, and Christian McCaffrey. Purdy should make his way onto plenty of championship squads, as long as this offense stays healthy. His rest-of-season schedule only includes one negative matchup – Week 16 vs. Baltimore.

49ers QB Brock Purdy looked strong in Sunday's win over Jacksonville, throwing for 296 yards and 3 TDs. Purdy had gone three straight games with exactly one TD. On Sunday, though, he spread scores to Brandon Aiyuk, George Kittle, and Kyle Juszczyk, with Kittle’s coming on an impressive deep ball in the face of pressure. Purdy’s strength of schedule looks excellent moving forward, as only one matchup (Week 16, vs. Baltimore) turns up as negative. The nucleus of San Francisco’s offense is healthy, so Purdy will project as a QB1 most weeks.

Niners QB Brock Purdy threw for a career-high 365 yards in Sunday's loss to the Bengals, but that didn't stop it from being a rough outing. He hit just 1 TD pass while turning the ball over three times. Purdy threw a pair of INTs and lost a fumble. It's just the second multi-INT game of his career, but they've come over the past two weeks. San Francisco gets a Week 9 bye, then matchups with Jacksonville and Tampa Bay that have been negative for QB scoring, according to our adjusted fantasy points allowed. After that, however, come four straight positive matchups for QB scoring.

49ers QB Brock Purdy (concussion) is officially active for today’s game vs. the Bengals. He cleared the protocol on Saturday after putting in a full practice on Friday. Purdy is safe to use in fantasy lineups as you normally would.

QB Brock Purdy has cleared the concussion protocol and will start Sunday for the 49ers against the Bengals. We’ve been expecting this outcome and switched from Sam Darnold to Purdy in our Week 8 rankings on Friday

49ers QB Brock Purdy (concussion) is listed as questionable for this weekend's game vs. the Bengals. He went from no practice on Wednesday to a limited practice on Thursday to full participation on Friday. HC Kyle Shanahan said Friday that Purdy has just one more stage of the concussion protocol to pass through. He now looks likely to play on Sunday. We'll continue to keep you updated on his status.

49ers QB Brock Purdy (concussion) returned to a limited practice on Thursday. He's made some progress through the protocol and has a chance to be cleared in time for Sunday's game vs. the Bengals. But, as of now, we'd still consider QB Sam Darnold more likely to start that one.

Niners QB Brock Purdy has entered the league concussion protocol. The Athletic's Matt Barrows reports that Purdy began showing symptoms on the flight back from the Monday night loss at Minnesota. The timing obviously puts Purdy's status in question for Sunday's game against the Bengals. Sam Darnold would be in line to start if Purdy can't go. We'll track the situation throughout the week.

49ers QB Brock Purdy completed 21 of 30 passes for 272 yards with 1 TD and 2 INTs in Week 7’s loss vs. the Vikings. The second-year starter has hit a skid of late. After starting the season with five weeks of turnover-free football, Purdy has thrown 3 INTs in his last two games and now sits as the QB16 in fantasy points per game in 2023. He’ll still be a respectable starter in 2QB/superflex formats, but we’ll be less enthusiastic to roll out Purdy in 1QB formats this coming week against the Bengals.

49ers QB Brock Purdy struggled in Sunday's loss to the Browns, completing 12 of 27 passes for 125 yards, one TD, and one INT. The 44% completion rate and 4.6 yards per attempt were both career lows. Purdy was facing a tough Cleveland defense and lost WR Deebo Samuel and RB Christian McCaffrey in-game. But he was also uncharacteristically inaccurate. We're not pushing the panic button here, especially with a much easier matchup vs. the Vikings on tap in Week 7. Of course, Purdy's fantasy stock will take a hit if Samuel and McCaffrey miss more time with their injuries.

49ers QB Brock Purdy completed 17 of 24 attempts for 252 yards with 4 TDs in Week 5’s blowout win vs. the Cowboys. San Fransisco dominated this contest so early that Purdy was pulled from action by the time the fourth quarter rolled out. Through five games, the second-year signal-caller ranks as the QB7 in fantasy points per game (19.8), tied with Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes. That’s some special company to be in. Next week, Purdy and company will travel to Cleveland to take on the Browns.

49ers QB Brock Purdy was without WR Brandon Aiyuk on Thursday night but still delivered a strong fantasy outing in the win over the Giants. He completed 25 of 37 passes (67.6%) for 310 yards (8.4 YPA), two TDs, and 0 INTs. Purdy actually missed a few throws early on but settled in by the second quarter. He found WR Ronnie Bell at the front pylon for a nine-yard score in the second quarter and then tossed a beautiful back-shoulder deep ball to WR Deebo Samuel for a 27-yard score in the fourth. Purdy has now tallied multiple passing TDs in nine of his 11 full games as a pro. He gets another plum matchup in Week 4 vs. the Cardinals that will make him a viable QB1. That's followed by much tougher draws vs. the Cowboys and Browns.

49ers QB Brock Purdy completed 19 passes on 29 attempts for 220 passing yards with 2 TDs and zero INTs in Sunday’s win vs. the Steelers. The second-year signal-caller also added a career-best 20 rushing yards on 3 carries in the contest. The 49ers recorded 391 yards of total offense, the highest of any team in the early slate of games. Aside from a strip sack by Steelers LB T.J. Watt, Purdy performed efficiently and should have another solid outing in Week 2 vs. the Rams.

The 49ers have named Sam Darnold their No. 2 QB, NFL Network reports. That leaves QB Trey Lance as the No. 3 -- and his future with the team in limbo. We'll see if Lance is still on the 49ers' roster come Week 1, but he's obviously not worth a roster spot in any redraft leagues.
