49ers QB Brock Purdy went 25/34 for 295 yards and 5 TDs with RB Christian McCaffrey going 21-117-0 on the ground and 6-29-2 on 8 targets through the air. The 49ers team put up 48 points on the Colts with Purdy tossing every TD except a late fourth-quarter pick-six from the defense. The 49ers' offense helped elevate playoff fantasy teams to make comebacks and could be league winners next week against the Bears.
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
McCaffrey ran 31 routes, running a route on 86.1% of the 49ers passing plays. That only trailed WR Jauan Jenning’s 33 routes (on 91.7% of passing plays). McCaffrey tied the team lead in target share with TE George Kittle at 24.2% (8 targets). Kittle did suffer an ankle injury late in the game.
Not only did McCaffrey find success through the air, but he thrashed them on the ground with 5.6 yards per carry. RB Brian Robinson Jr. also went 5-20-0 with 4 yards per carry.
Purdy did throw one interception late on an overthrow, but he was on fire for most of the game. Since returning from injury, Purdy has been QB6 or better in three of five weeks. Since the Week 14 bye, Purdy has been a top-5 QB in both games.
Purdy and McCaffrey become great starts next week against the Bears. It is a negative match-up for Purdy, but he has been stellar enough to be match-up proof moving forward. Unless you have another elite QB option, Purdy is worth plugging in for your fantasy championship.
Of course McCaffrey will be started in every format. The Bears are middle of the pack against RBs, but McCaffrey’s receiving puts him as a must start.
Jennings is also an intriguing start with the Bears ranking second in fantasy points given up to fantasy WRs.
The 49ers offense could certainly help carry you in your fantasy championship as they compete for the #1 overall seed.
