The Steelers traded WR Antonio Brown to the Raiders in exchange for 3rd- and 5th-round picks. Oakland also gave Brown a new 3-year, $50.1 million deal that makes him the league's highest-paid WR. The move ends Brown's 9-year tenure in Pittsburgh that saw him top 1,100 yards 7 times. The future Hall-of-Famer turns 31 in July and remained a stat-piling machine last season, leading the league with 15 receiving scores and finishing top 10 in catches (104) and yards (1,297). But it's worth noting that he posted his lowest yards-per-target average (7.72) since 2012. And Pro Football Focus graded him 26th among 117 WRs. Even if he's past his peak, though, Brown is still 1 of the game's best. We'll see how he gels with HC Jon Gruden and QB Derek Carr, but he'll obviously be fed a boatload of targets in Oakland. Brown figures to land safely inside our top 10 WRs when the rankings come out this spring. In Pittsburgh, meanwhile, JuJu Smith-Schuster takes over as the #1 WR and James Washington gets a big opportunity to step in as the #2.

Raiders QB Derek Carr is practicing in full and isn't listed on the Week 8 injury report. He injured his left arm prior to the bye week but is ready for Sunday's game against the Colts. Carr hasn't been great this season and is now without WR Amari Cooper. But he's a low-end spot-start option in this weekend's plus matchup.

Raiders QB Derek Carr injured his left (non-throwing) arm in the 4th quarter of Sunday's game against the Seahawks. We'll look for more info. QB A.J. McCarron is Oakland's backup.

The Steelers have traded WR Martavis Bryant to the Raiders in exchange for a 3rd-round pick, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Bryant struggled in his return last season from nearly 2-year absence, hauling in 50 of 84 targets for 603 yards and 3 scores. He's still just 26, though, and racked up 14 TDs with a 17.3 yards-per-catch average over his first 2 NFL campaigns. Bryant joins a remade Oakland WR corps with Jordy Nelson alongside Amari Cooper. Bryant figures to open the season as the #3 WR but could push for #2 if Nelson's decline continues.

The Raiders will name Jon Gruden their new HC at a press conference on Tuesday, according to multiple reports. Gruden has been out of the NFL since 2008 but has 11 years of head-coaching experience, including 4 with the Raiders. Throwing in another 3 years as Eagles OC, Gruden's offensive track record has been volatile. He's landed 5 of those 14 teams inside the top 7 in total yards but had another 5 finish 22nd or worse. Gruden's teams have varied between pass- and run-leaning, with 8 of his 14 squads ranking higher in pass attempts than rush attempts.

The Raiders have fired HC Jack Del Rio. He took his team to the playoffs a year ago but regressed to a 6-10 record this season. Del Rio is a defensive mind whose Raiders defenses underachieved. Oakland is believed to be targeting Jon Gruden as its next HC.

Rain showers are expected for at least part of today's Raiders-Bills game, along with 12-14 mph winds. It won't be ideal weather for the passing and kicking games, but it doesn't look bad enough to adjust our projections. Consider the weather here, though, if deciding between 2 similarly ranked players.

Raiders QB Derek Carr (back) is not listed on the final Week 6 injury report after putting in a full practice on Friday. The back injury still adds a bit of risk to his outlook, but Carr is on the low-end QB1 radar in what could be a shootout against the Chargers.

Raiders HC Jack Del Rio confirmed on Monday that QB Derek Carr (back) is expected to play against the Chargers on Sunday. Carr got in 2 limited practices last week and looked good. We'll monitor his practice participation this week, but plan on him being back under center this weekend. It's obviously excellent news for Oakland's skill-position guys.

Raiders QB Derek Carr (back) is inactive for today’s game against the Ravens. He pushed to play in this one and has a good shot to be back for Week 6. QB E.J. Manuel starts today but is a bottom-barrel QB2.

According to multiple reports, Raiders QB Derek Carr is not expected to play today against the Ravens. That's no surprise. That it's even in question suggests that we should get Carr back in the lineup for a Week 6 home date with the Chargers. That would be a start-worthy fantasy spot.

Raiders QB Derek Carr (back) is officially questionable for this weekend’s game against the Ravens. He put in limited practices on Thursday and Friday. Carr is clearly ahead of schedule, but it’s still unlikely that he plays this weekend. A Week 6 return seems feasible, though. QB E.J. Manuel figures to get the start on Sunday but isn’t a fantasy option vs. the league’s 5th-ranked QB defense.

Raiders QB Derek Carr (back) returned to practice on Thursday, getting in a limited session. He's not going to play against the Ravens this weekend, but it looks like he has a shot to be back for Week 6.

Raiders QB Derek Carr will miss the next 2-4 weeks with a transverse process fracture in his back, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports. Word reportedly comes from HC Jack Del Rio, who initially cited back spasms as the issue. EJ Manuel fared decently as a fill-in at Denver but obviously marks a big step down from Carr. That damages the already disappointing value of WR Amari Cooper and TE Jared Cook. WR Michael Crabtree (bruised lung) is dealing with his own health issue. The Carr situation could give us a run-heavier look from the Raiders over the next few weeks: home games vs. the Ravens, Chargers and Chiefs, and then a trip to Buffalo. That 4-week stretch would leave just 1 more game before Oakland's Week 10 bye. It's also worth noting, however, that Tony Romo and Cam Newton each returned from transverse process fractures after just 1 missed game back in 2014.

Raiders HC Jack Del Rio said after Sunday's loss in Denver that QB Derek Carr is dealing with backs spasms. Del Rio doesn't believe it'll be a long-term issue. We'll need to keep a close eye on Carr throughout the coming week. E.J. Manuel was decent in relief today -- completing 11 of 17 passes for 106 yards and an INT -- but is obviously a significant downgrade.

Raiders QB Derek Carr left in the 3rd quarter of Sunday's game with an injury. It appeared to be to his back or neck, but we haven't received an update from the team yet. Stay tuned. QB E.J. Manuel is Oakland's backup.

Update: Carr is questionable to return with a back injury.

The Raiders and QB Derek Carr have agreed on a 5-year, $125 million extension. He's now signed through 2022 and is the highest-paid player in the league in terms of annual salary. It's an aggressive move from the Raiders. But Carr has improved his completion rate and yards per attempt each season since being drafted 36th overall back in 2014. He ranked 14th among QBs in fantasy points 2 years ago and 7th through 15 healthy games last season. There's perennial top 8 potential here, especially being tied to WR Amari Cooper.

Raiders GM Reggie McKenzie said Monday that QB Derek Carr will be a "full-go" for all offseason activities. He's now 3 months removed from the broken fibula that ended his 2016 campaign. Carr ranked 7th among QBs in fantasy points through 16 weeks last year and could be even better in 2017. Oakland returns WRs Amari Cooper and Michael Crabtree and added TE Jared Cook in free agency. The backfield is currently comprised of smallish, unproven youngsters in DeAndre Washington and Jalen Richard.

The Associated Press reports that the Raiders will not renew the contract of OC Bill Musgrave this offseason, opting instead to promote QBs coach Todd Downing. Oakland jumped from 24th in yards and 17th in scoring to 6th and 7th, respectively, in Musgrave's 2nd year as OC. Downing spent the past 2 years as QBs coach, marking the 3rd team he has served in that role. He has never served as an OC on the college or pro level, though. We'll await word on his plans for the Raiders offense, as well as any significant moves the team plans for this offseason. The most interesting situation for fantasy owners will be the backfield, with Latavius Murray on the verge of free agency and DeAndre Washington's role growing at the end of the year.
