Colts RB Deon Jackson missed Thursday's practice with a quad injury and is expected to sit out Saturday's preseason opener against the Bills, according to the team website. Indy, of course, was already without RB Zack Moss (wrist) and RB Jonathan Taylor (feelings, ankle?). That leaves recent signee Kenyan Drake and fifth-round rookie Evan Hull as the top healthy competitors for playing time. We'll see how long Jackson remains out. Taylor has been the only Colts back in draftable range in our RB rankings, but he has fallen during his training-camp absence. It's a tough situation to buy into at all in current fantasy football drafts. Indy also signed RB Jason Huntley this week.

Per NFL insider Mike Garafolo, Colts RB Zack Moss suffered a broken arm in practice on Monday. He’s expected to miss about six weeks. With Jonathan Taylor sidelined, the Colts are down to Deon Jackson and Evan Hull atop the RB depth chart.

The Colts selected RB Evan Hull in Round 5 of the 2023 NFL Draft. Hull is intriguing for 2 reasons. First, he's excellent in the passing game, racking up 88 receptions over the last 2 years at Northwestern. Second, he's a plus athlete, registering a 93rd percentile Relative Athletic Score, highlighted by a 4.47-second 40 time and elite 6.90-second 3-cone at 5'10, 209 pounds. Hull joins a Colts backfield controlled by RB Jonathan Taylor. But the rookie could at least push Zack Moss and Deon Jackson for the #2 spot on the depth chart.
