Chiefs WR Kadarius Toney (ankle, hip) has been ruled out for Sunday's game vs. the Raiders. With WR Mecole Hardman (thumb) on IR, the Chiefs are down to five WRs: Rashee Rice, Justin Watson, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Skyy Moore, and Richie James. Rice remains the top fantasy option here but still ran a route on just 52% of pass plays coming off the bye last week. Watson led the way with a 66% route rate and 11 targets in that loss to the Eagles but would still be tough to trust in Week 12 fantasy lineups.

Chiefs WR Justin Watson dislocated his elbow in Thursday night's win over the Broncos, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. X-rays came back clean, but Watson is still scheduled for an MRI. "He's out a few weeks at least, and it could be longer based on the results of the scans," Rapoport adds. Watson has played 44% of Kansas City's offensive snaps and garnered 17 targets through six games, so his absence opens up a little opportunity for the other Chiefs WRs.

Chiefs WR Rashee Rice garnered 5 targets on only 10 routes run in Week 5. It’s eye-popping efficiency for the rising rookie, who tallied 4 grabs, 33 yards, and 1 score. Ahead of Rice, Chiefs WRs ranked as follows in routes: Marquez Valdes-Scantling (29), Justin Watson (23), Skyy Moore (23), Kadarius Toney (10). Rice also played only 20 snaps. So, the rookie will need to see the field more often to become a viable WR3/FLEX, but that’s the potential here – especially as bye weeks continue rolling in. Rice squares off with the Broncos on Thursday night.

Chiefs WR Kadarius Toney (toe) was limited in practice all week but isn’t listed on the final injury report. He’ll play vs. the Jets on Sunday night, but his role is completely unclear. Toney played just two snaps in last week’s win over the Bears.

Chiefs WR Kadarius Toney (toe) is active for today’s game vs. the Bears. He only got in a limited practice on Friday and would be a high-risk fantasy play.

Chiefs WR Kadarius Toney (toe) is expected to play vs. the Bears on Sunday, according to insider Jordan Schultz. "Toney, I’m told, worked out Saturday and quelled any concern the team may have had," Schultz adds. "The medical staff will take one more look in the morning, but Toney will be a go barring anything unexpected." Toney, of course, was already playing limited snaps before this new toe injury, so it's tough to imagine him in a big role tomorrow. He's not a recommended Week 3 fantasy starter.

Chiefs WR Kadarius Toney (toe) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game vs. the Bears. He only got in a limited practice on Friday and would be a high-risk fantasy play if he ends up active for this one. WR Richie James (knee) has been ruled out.

Chiefs WR Kadarius Toney (toe) missed practice again on Thursday. We'll see how he's listed on the final injury report tomorrow, but he shouldn't be in your Week 3 fantasy plans.

Chiefs WR Kadarius Toney is dealing with a sprained toe and won't practice on Wednesday, HC Andy Reid said. It's always something with this guy. We'll monitor Toney's status leading up to Sunday's game vs. the Bears, but he shouldn't be in your Week 3 fantasy plans.

Chiefs WR Kadarius Toney picked up a left foot injury in Sunday's win over Jacksonville. HC Andy Reid indicated that it's a minor issue, but we'll check on Toney's practice participation this week. He rebounded from his Week 1 debacle with 5 catches (on 5 targets) for 35 yards. He ran only 15 routes, though -- seventh most on the team. Toney's limited role makes him a shaky fantasy starter going forward.

Chiefs WR Kadarius Toney had a nightmare opener vs. the Lions on Thursday night. He played just 16 snaps (25%) but managed to cost the Chiefs the game. Toney let a perfectly thrown pass clang off his hands and into S Brian Branch's for a 50-yard pick-six in the third quarter. Then Toney dropped a deep ball on Kansas City's final drive of the 21-20 loss. He earlier got the ball on a trick play from Detroit's two-yard line but was stopped at the one. We'll see how Toney rebounds from this ugly outing. He remains worth stashing on fantasy rosters but should not be in Week 2 starting lineups.

Chiefs TE Travis Kelce (knee) is officially inactive for tonight's opener vs. the Lions. That leaves Noah Gray as Kansas City's top TE. Chiefs WRs -- particularly Skyy Moore, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, and Kadarius Toney -- have more target potential with Kelce out.

Chiefs WR Kadarius Toney (knee) is not listed on the final injury report for Thursday night's opener vs. the Lions. He graduated to a full practice on Wednesday after being limited the previous two days. We'd still be surprised if Toney played a full slate of snaps tomorrow, so he's not a recommended Week 1 starter. We'll keep a close eye on his usage.

Chiefs WR Kadarius Toney (knee) was a limited participant in Monday's practice. He's seemingly trending toward playing in Thursday night's opener vs. the Lions, but we'd be surprised if he played a full slate of snaps after missing all of training camp and the preseason. See where Toney sits in the Week 1 WR rankings.

Chiefs HC Andy Reid said Sunday that WR Kadarius Toney (knee) is "good to go," presumably for Thursday night's opener vs. the Lions. "He's moving around pretty well. We'll take it day by day," Reid added. QB Patrick Mahomes said that Toney has been practicing for a few days and "looks like KT." We'd try not to use Toney in Week 1 fantasy lineups considering he missed all of training camp and the preseason. But we'll be keeping a close eye on his playing time and role in the offense.

NFL Network's James Palmer hears that there's "optimism" that WR Kadarius Toney (knee) will be ready for next Thursday night's season opener vs. the Lions. He's been out since undergoing knee surgery in late July but is expected back at practice by the end of this week. "This week is gonna be very important," Palmer added. "They think he's doing great in terms of his recovery, but how he practices this week would be big." We'll keep an eye on Toney's progress, but he shouldn't be in your Week 1 fantasy plans coming off the extended absence.

Chiefs HC Andy Reid expects WR Kadarius Toney (knee) back at practice in "about a week." Toney has been sidelined since getting hurt on July 23 and subsequently undergoing surgery to repair a cartilage issue in his knee. Kansas City's season opener is just 12 days away, so Toney seems iffy for that one. But it at least sounds like he's trending in a positive direction and remains worth stashing on fantasy benches.

The Chiefs expect WR Kadarius Toney (knee) to play in the season opener vs. the Lions, GM Brett Veach said Monday. Toney injured his knee on the first day of camp, underwent surgery, and has been sidelined since. He's unlikely to practice much before Week 1 and won't be a bankable fantasy play in that one. But being out there for the opener would be a win for Toney -- and potentially make him a fantasy option starting in Week 2.
