Vikings WR Charles Johnson (quad) is questionable for Sunday’s opener against the Titans after a limited week of practice. He shouldn’t be in fantasy lineups, but his absence would give rookie WR Laquon Treadwell a shot to make a case for a starting job.

The Vikings have acquired QB Sam Bradford from the Eagles in exchange for a 2017 1st-round pick and a conditional 4th-rounder in 2018, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. It's an aggressive move from a Minnesota team that's in a championship window right now. Bradford certainly isn't an All-Pro, but he's certainly an upgrade over Shaun Hill. We'll see if Minnesota can get Bradford ready for its opener in just 8 days, but he obviously won't be a Week 1 fantasy option. The Vikings will remain a run-first team, so Bradford will struggle to ascend beyond QB2 territory. His arrival is good news for RB Adrian Peterson, WR Stefon Diggs and the rest of Minnesota's skill-position guys. Meanwhile, Bradford's departure from Philadelphia figures to speed up QB Carson Wentz's debut. The rookie is still recovering from his rib injury and is a long shot to be under center Week 1. But we'd bet on him being there by October. QB Chase Daniel figures to open the season as Philly's starter.

Vikings QB Teddy Bridgewater suffered a "significant" injury to his left knee in practice Tuesday, HC Mike Zimmer told the media late Tuesday afternoon. Zimmer said the team didn't know the extent of the injury yet but that Bridgewater's hope for playing this season "doesn't look good right now." Shaun Hill steps in as the starter for however long Bridgewater will miss. The 36-year-old obviously means a step down from the 3rd-year starter, but Hill has started 6+ games in 3 other seasons and fared OK. He needs only to be decent in a Vikings offense that leans heavily on the running game and gains support from an ascending defense. Going from Bridgewater to Hill dings the upside for WRs Stefon Diggs, Charles Johnson and Laquon Treadwell a bit. We've knocked them down our WR rankings, but none was an early-round option to begin with. A sluggish pass offense could also hurt RB Adrian Peterson by allowing defenses to stack the box more -- like we saw with Rams opponents vs. Todd Gurley late last year. But Peterson already saw plenty of that in 2015. He's still a fine pick anywhere in the 1st half of Round 2.

Vikings WR Charles Johnson started Friday night's preseason opener and grabbed a 49-yard TD catch from Teddy Bridgewater against the Bengals. It's time to at least consider Johnson as a late-round flier in fantasy football drafts. He let owners down big time in 2015, but there's almost no risk to picking Johnson in the final few rounds of your draft. We'll see if rookie WR Laquon Treadwell can make a play for the starting job opposite Stefon Diggs.

1500 ESPN's Bo Mitchell believes Vikings WR Charles Johnson "is in line to start in Tennessee in Week 1." That'd be alongside Stefon Diggs and ahead of Laquon Treadwell. Johnson has been working with the starters in training camp so far, while reviews on Treadwell's play have been mixed. He'll be "phased in over time," according to Mitchell. We're still not ruling out the possibility of Treadwell beating out Johnson for the Week 1 starting job, but fantasy owners can't be counting on him as an early-season asset. Johnson remains just a late-round flier after flopping in his starting shot last year.

Vikings rookie WR Laquon Treadwell admitted that he wasn’t at full health during his final year at Ole Miss. Treadwell, of course, suffered an ugly leg injury that included a broken left tibia and a dislocated left ankle in 2014. “I wasn’t 100 percent in anything I did from the beginning of spring ball (in 2015) to pro day (at Mississippi on March 28),” he said. “I was playing on one leg my whole junior season. Last year wasn’t fun going out and being hurt and trying to play.” Treadwell struggled with drops early in OTAs, but the good news is that he’s back to full health. The 21-year-old just doesn’t carry a high ceiling as a member of the run-heavy Vikings.

The Vikings added WR Laquon Treadwell with the 22nd overall pick of the 2016 NFL Draft. Treadwell is a subpar NFL athlete, with 4.6 speed and a 33-inch vertical. He landed a SPARQ score in the 19th percentile among WRs, which might cap his fantasy upside. But Treadwell wins with route running, ball skills and run-after-catch ability. He posted a strong 82-1,153-11 line as a 20-year old true junior against SEC competition this past season. And that was following a semi-slow start due largely to a broken fibula and dislocated ankle suffered in 2014. He averaged 6.9 catches, 97.4 yards and 1.25 TDs over his final 8 games last year. Treadwell stands a good chance to join Stefon Diggs in Minnesota’s starting lineup this season. And his possession-style game is a good fit with QB Teddy Bridgewater.
