Texans WR Robert Woods is expected to miss 2-3 weeks with his foot injury, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. Woods is out for today's game vs. the Panthers, and it sounds like he'll also miss Week 9. His absence can't be bad news for WRs Nico Collins and Tank Dell.

Texans WR Robert Woods (foot) is not expected to play vs. the Panthers on Sunday, per insider Aaron Wilson. Hopefully you weren't hoping to use Woods in Week 8 fantasy lineups. The big impact here in on WR Tank Dell, who we were worried might not play a full slate of snaps alongside Woods and WR Noah Brown. Now that Woods is out, Nico Collins, Dell, and Brown should be locked in as Houston's top three WRs.

Texans WR Nico Collins hauled 4 of 6 targets for a team-high 80 receiving yards in Week 6’s win vs. the Saints. TE Dalton Schultz also had a good game, posting 4 catches for 61 yards and a TD on Sunday. After a slow start to the season, Schultz has now recorded at least 40 receiving yards and 1 TD in three consecutive games. We won’t see the Texans again until Week 8 vs. the Panthers. Hopefully, by then, fantasy managers will have rookie WR Nathaniel ‘Tank’ Dell (concussion) back in the fold.

Texans WR Nico Collins had his way with the Pittsburgh secondary in Week 4, tallying 7-168-2. Collins scored once at the goal line; once from deep on a play that showed his length and post-catch ability. On the day, his 30% target share easily led the team. The third-year pro now has 22 catches, 428 yards, and 3 TDs through four games. He'll be in the WR2/3 mix for Sunday's matchup at Atlanta.

Texans rookie WR Nathaniel ‘Tank’ Dell had himself a day with a team-leading 5 catches on 7 targets for 145 yards in Week 3 vs. the Jaguars. Teammates Nico Collins and Robert Woods struggled in this contest, each recording 34 receiving yards apiece on a combined 5 catches. These results are certainly disappointing for fantasy managers. The good news, however, is that this Houston offense seems pretty darn good with QB C.J. Stroud at the helm. Despite leading the whole game, the Texans chucked the ball 30 times. That type of continued passing volume is fantastic to see for fantasy managers. This will be an exciting unit to watch next week vs. the Steelers.

Texans WR Nico Collins led the team in receiving with 7 catches, a monstrous 146 receiving yards, and a TD in Week 2 vs. the Colts. Rookie Nathaniel ‘Tank’ Dell saw the most targets (10) and racked up 7 catches for 72 yards and a TD in the contest. Robert Woods was heavily involved again, logging 6 catches for 74 yards. As long as Houston continues to play from behind on a weekly basis, there’ll be plenty of fantasy scoring opportunities for these pass-catchers. Week 3 vs. the Jaguars projects to be another game in which the Texans will have to throw a lot to keep up.

Texans QB C.J. Stroud (shoulder) is expected to play vs. the Colts today, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Stroud was added to the injury report and limited in practice on Friday with a sore right shoulder. He's no better than a low-end QB2 in Week 2 fantasy lineups, but his availability is good news for Houston's offense.

Texans QB C.J. Stroud (shoulder) was added to the injury report and limited in Friday's practice. He's listed as questionable for this weekend's game vs. the Colts. Per insider Aaron Wilson, Stroud "didn't do much" on Friday to "rest sore right, throwing shoulder, but is expected to try to play against Colts." That doesn't sound great. Hopefully Stroud wasn't in your Week 2 fantasy plans. QB Davis Mills will start on Sunday if Stroud can't. The situation adds downside to Houston's pass-catchers.

Texans WRs Nico Collins and Robert Woods combined to draw nearly half of QB C.J. Stroud's 44 pass attempts in Sunday's loss to the Ravens. Collins led the team with 11 looks, catching 6 passes for 80 yards. Woods drew 10 targets and caught 6 for 57 yards. No other Texan drew more than 4 looks. WR Tank Dell, WR Noah Brown, and RB Mike Boone tied for third with 4 apiece. Target shares in the 22%+ range would make Collins and Woods decent-to-good PPR options going forward. Each is a fine reserve option in leagues of 12+ teams.

ESPN's DJ Bien-Aime says in his final roster projection that WR Noah Brown has been running as a starter alongside Robert Woods and Nico Collins "throughout camp." He adds that "there's a chance midway through the season [Tank Dell] becomes a starter." As for second-year WR John Metchie, Bien-Aime calls him only one of the "remaining receivers." The article even mentions sixth-round rookie WR Xavier Hutchinson "sometimes" running with the starters. Metchie's comeback from leukemia is a great story no matter what. But he looks like a fantasy afterthought. Brown's name will be worth keeping in mind for DFS and the final rounds of best ball tournament drafts. But we're not expecting this offense to support multiple fantasy-starter pass catchers. Collins remains the top Texans WR in our fantasy football rankings. Woods has been a PPR value throughout draft season because he stays on the board until the very end (and often beyond). Dell is intriguing as a late-draft stash in deeper leagues.

Texans WR Nico Collins was QB C.J. Stroud's "favorite target throughout the spring," ESPN's DJ Bien-Aime writes. Collins finished just 53rd among WRs in PPR points per game last year. But he took tangible steps forward from his 2021 rookie campaign in target share (13.4% to 20.1%) and yards per route (1.24 to 1.68). Collins is a candidate for another leap in year three. And Stroud should be a big boost to Houston's passing game. For more on Collins, check out 2023 Fantasy Football Sleepers.

The Texans selected Ohio State QB C.J. Stroud with the second pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. Stroud racked up huge numbers as a two-year starter at Ohio State: 8,123 yards (9.8 YPA), 85 TDs, and only 12 INTs. Playing alongside elite talents like Garret Wilson, Chris Olave, Marvin Harrison Jr., and Jaxon-Smith-Njigba certainly helped. Stroud still showed NFL ability, proving accurate in all areas of the field. But can he adjust to muddier pockets in the pros? And can he use his legs more often? Those answers will be vital in determining his dynasty fantasy value. For year one, though, Stroud’s unlikely to be more than a deep league spot starter. Houston’s currently rolling out Nico Collins, Robert Woods, and John Metchie at WR.

The Cowboys are getting WR Brandin Cooks from the Texans for a fifth-round pick in 2023 and a sixth-rounder in 2024, according to multiple reports. Dallas likely views Cooks as the new No. 2 WR, ahead of Michael Gallup. We wouldn't bet on him beating CeeDee Lamb in target share. Cooks is coming off a disappointing 2022 that saw his receptions per game, yards per game and catch rate fall significantly vs. his previous two Houston campaigns. He managed just a WR40 finish in PPR points per game. But we're not betting that the 29-year-old (until Sept. 25) is over the hill just yet. If the team change doesn't boost Cooks' ADP too much vs. his current low-WR4 position, he's a solid-to-good option for your best ball drafts. Cooks' arrival also helps QB Dak Prescott, who sits low in QB1 territory in best ball ADP. As for the Houston WR corps: Try not to get too excited about anyone. The Texans signed Robert Woods to a two-year deal this offseason. Nico Collins has averaged just 2.9 receptions per game through two NFL seasons. And 2022 second-round pick John Metchie is expected to debut after missing his rookie year for leukemia treatment. The whole group should at least get a new QB next month via the NFL Draft.

The Texans have signed WR Robert Woods to a two-year deal. The pact includes $10 million guaranteed and could be worth as much as $17 million, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. This signing ahead of NFL free agency opening signals that Houston either wants Woods to replace WR Brandon Cooks once he’s traded or that it prefers Woods to Nico Collins as the No. 2 receiver. Woods has been going near the end of best ball drafts, so signing anywhere helps his outlook. We’ll see what the Texans do at QB and whether they make any other WR moves before determine the veteran’s ultimate value

The Texans are expected to hire Bobby Slowik as their new OC, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. Slowik will become the latest Kyle Shanahan disciple to take over an offense. The 35-year-old has spent the past 6 seasons under Shanahan in San Francisco, actually starting out as a defensive quality control coach before moving to the offensive side of the ball in 2019. He served as an offensive assistant for 2 seasons before being promoted to passing game specialist in 2021 and then passing game coordinator last year. Slowik also worked under HC Mike Shanahan in Washington from 2011 to 2013 and spent a few years in between NFL jobs as an analyst at Pro Football Focus. It appears to be a forward-thinking hire by the Texans, although Slowik doesn't have experience calling plays at any level. The Texans are fully expected to take a QB with the 2nd overall pick of this spring's draft.

The Texans have placed WR Nico Collins on IR for his foot injury, ending his season. That should continue the elevated role for WR Chris Moore, though he's questionable for Saturday's game against the Titans with a foot injury that limited his practice all week. WR Brandin Cooks (calf) is also questionable, despite putting in full practices Wednesday and Thursday.

Texans WR Nico Collins (foot) has been ruled out for Week 16's contest vs. the Titans. His teammates, Brandin Cooks (calf) and Chris Moore (elbow), are officially listed as questionable. Cooks managed to practice in full on Wednesday and Thursday while Moore was limited all week. Both Cooks and Moore carry flex-worthy appeal should they be able to suit up. The Titans' defense is the friendliest matchup for WRs in adjusted fantasy points allowed. That doesn't make the Texans' offense good all of a sudden but it does help.
