That's not surprising, given that Seattle drafted him in Round 1 last year and has yet to re-sign veteran OLB K.J. Wright. The Seahawks also reportedly have 2020 second-round DE Darrell Taylor working out at strong-side LB. Taylor also got reps at rush end in recent workouts, but he's down 20 pounds from the 267 at which he entered the league. It sounds like Seattle is eyeing him in a role similar to what Bruce Irvin used to play: early-down LB, edge rusher in passing situations. He'll compete with Cody Barton for playing time at SLB. We'll see about that situation. Brooks, though, looks headed for a 3-down role -- next to Bobby Wagner -- and IDP sleeper status in 2021.

The Seahawks have agreed to a 1-year deal with DE Aldon Smith, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo. Smith made an impressive comeback with the Cowboys last season, considering he hadn't played in the NFL in 5 years. All 5 of his sacks, though, and 9 of his 14 QB hits came in the season's first 8 games. Dallas then decided not to bring the 31-year-old back. He lands in a Seattle situation that provides opportunity, but don't plan to draft Smith expecting big fantasy returns for your IDP lineup in 2021.

The Seahawks have agreed to a 2-year deal with DE Carlos Dunlap. ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that it's worth $16.6 million, with $8.5 million guaranteed. Seattle released Dunlap earlier in the offseason, but the new deal makes it clear that was a cap move. Dunlap went from falling out of favor in Cincinnati and registering just 4 QB hits in 7 games to rebounding after a trade to the Seahawks. Dunlap delivered 14 hits over 8 games in Seattle, despite a foot injury that cost him 1 week and limited his playing time in at least 2 others. Dunlap has DL2 potential for 2021 IDP leagues.

The Jaguars have agreed to a 3-year deal with CB Shaq Griffin with $29 million guaranteed and a max value of $44.5 million, according to Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic. Seattle reportedly made a push to keep Griffin on board but lost out. Griffin spent most of his 4 seasons in Seattle as a starter on the outside. He totaled 6 INTs while averaging a solid 0.84 passes defensed per game. Griffin figures to land in draftable range in our 2021 DB rankings for IDP leagues.

The Seahawks have fired OC Brian Schottenheimer. ESPN's Adam Schefter cites "philosophical differences" between Schottenheimer and HC Pete Carroll. We assume that's referring to the offense's run/pass split, which has long been a topic of debate in Seattle. The 2020 Seahawks offense was a juggernaut over the 1st half of the season, averaging 34.3 points and 414 total yards per game on a 59.3% pass rate. They sunk to 24.3 points and 335 yards in the 2nd half on a 56.6% pass rate. We'll see who the 'Hawks go with as their new OC. Russell Wilson, D.K. Metcalf and Tyler Lockett's fantasy stocks are on the line.

Adams reportedly also might require surgery on his right shoulder and plans to have surgery on his left hand. He managed only a single limited practice Friday, though, and saw his snaps limited the last time he played through this foot issue 2 weeks ago. There's upside to Dunlap's matchup, but he's a risky IDP option. He's more worth a shot in sack-heavy scoring than in formats that lean toward tackle scoring.

Seahawks CB Quinton Dunbar and TE Greg Olsen have "a chance" of playing Sunday against Washington, HC Pete Carroll said during his Friday radio show on 97.3 FM in Seattle. Carroll said Dunbar and have "positioned themselves where we've gotta figure it out here all the way up [to Sunday]." We'll see about their statuses Sunday morning. Olsen's potential return adds risk to Jacob Hollister and Will Dissly as options.
