Saints Get Jordyn Tyson to Support Second-Year QB Tyler Shough

The New Orleans Saints selected Arizona State WR Jordyn Tyson with the eighth overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. The lone red flag on Tyson’s profile is durability. He missed roughly 34% of his college career with a multi-ligament knee injury, a broken collarbone, hamstring issues, and a Lisfranc injury. That history presents downside risk, but Tyson looked like a potential No. 1 WR when healthy. He peaked as a junior, posting a huge 75-1,101-10 line. Playing under WRs coach (and former Steelers WR) Hines Ward, Tyson posted a strong 3.04 yards per route run while seeing a near-even mix of usage inside and out. He brings NFL size at 6’2, 203 pounds, wins with sharp route running, and creates separation at all levels. Tyson’s physical tools give him a chance to be the best WR in this class.

Chris Olave Returns To Limited Practice Thursday

Saints WR Chris Olave (back) returned to a limited practice on Thursday. He should be able to suit up for this weekend's game vs. the Buccaneers, but that back might still be a factor. We'll see what Olave does in Friday's practice and how he's listed on the final injury report.

        Chris Olave Sidelined Thursday

Saints WR Chris Olave (back) went from a limited practice on Wednesday to no practice on Thursday. HC Kellen Moore called Olave's back issue "no big deal" on Wednesday, so we're still expecting him to play vs. Miami this weekend. But check back tomorrow to see how Olave is listed on the final injury report.

Chris Olave Will Play Week 8

Saints WR Chris Olave (ankle) is off the final Week 8 injury report. He progressed from no practice Wednesday to limited participation on Thursday to full-go on Friday. Olave should be ready for his usual voluminous role vs. the Buccaneers this weekend.

Chris Olave Back At Practice Thursday

Saints WR Chris Olave (ankle) returned to a limited practice on Thursday. Insider Nick Underhill reported yesterday that Olave is expected to play vs. the Buccaneers this weekend, and this practice puts him on track. We'll see how Olave is listed on the final injury report tomorrow, but he can be penciled into Week 8 fantasy lineups for now.

Derek Carr Will Play Week 9

Saints QB Derek Carr (oblique) was limited in practice all week but is not listed on the final injury report. He’ll be back for Sunday’s game vs. the Panthers. Despite that plus matchup, Carr is really only in play in 2-QB and superflex leagues. But his return is excellent news for RB Alvin Kamara and especially WR Chris Olave.

Chris Olave Cleared To Play Week 8

Saints WR Chris Olave (concussion) is off the final Week 8 injury report and will play vs. the Chargers on Sunday. QB play is a concern with Derek Carr still out. But Olave should dominate targets with no WR Rashid Shaheed. Olave cracks the top 24 in our Week 8 WR Rankings.

Chris Olave & Rashid Shaheed Out Tuesday

Saints WRs Chris Olave (concussion) and Rashid Shaheed (knee) did not practice on Tuesday. Olave has virtually no chance to clear protocol in time for Thursday night's game vs. the Broncos. We're still waiting for more information on Shaheed's knee injury, but he seems unlikely to play against Denver. Without their top two WRs, the Saints would be left with Bub Means, Mason Tipton, and Cedrick Wilson.

Derek Carr Expected To Miss Multiple Games

Saints QB Derek Carr is expected to miss "multiple games" with the oblique injury he suffered in Monday night's loss to the Chiefs, NFL Network reports. He'll likely miss this weekend's game vs. the Bucs and the following Thursday's game against the Broncos. It sounds like he'll have a chance to be back for Week 8. New Orleans' bye isn't until Week 12.

        Chris Olave Active

Saints WR Chris Olave (hamstring) is active for today’s game vs. the Falcons. The hamstring injury he suffered in Friday’s practice was evidently minor. It still adds real risk to his Week 4 fantasy profile, though. Check your Team Intel page to see if Olave makes sense in your starting lineup.

'Real Chance' Chris Olave Plays vs. Falcons

Saints WR Chris Olave is traveling with the team to Atlanta for Sunday's game. Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.football reports that Olave "still has a real chance" to play in the game. The 1 p.m. ET kickoff at least means we'll have plenty of other options available when we find out whether Olave's active. Factor in the risk of re-injury as you're making your lineup decisions, though.

Chris Olave will play Week 16

Saints WR Chris Olave (ankle) is not listed on the final Week 16 injury report. He was a full-go in Wednesday's practice and should be at least close to 100% for Thursday night's game vs. the Rams. Olave is safe to get back into fantasy lineups.

Chris Olave expected back for Week 16

Saints WR Chris Olave (ankle) is expected to play vs. the Rams on Thursday night, according to insider Nick Underhill. Olave was limited in Tuesday's practice. Derek Carr delivers without Chris Olave

Saints QB Derek Carr played his best game of the season Week 15 vs. the Giants. Interestingly, the strong effort came with Chris Olave (ankle) sidelined. Carr hit Juwan Johnson, Jimmy Graham, and Keith Kirkwood for scores while completing 82.1% of his passes. What helped: Taysom Hill mixed in for only one pass attempt and one carry in his return from hand/foot injuries. A positive matchup helped too, but credit Carr for delivering alongside a thin supporting cast. Next week, he gets a quick turnaround with a road matchup against the Rams. We’ll see if Olave returns for that one. Even if he does, Carr will project as a clear QB2. The former Raider doesn’t need to be rostered outside of deep leagues/superflex formats.
