Deebo Samuel Injury Updates | Shark Bites

Niners HC Kyle Shanahan announced Tuesday that WR Deebo Samuel will miss the rest of the season with his hamstring injury. That clears the way for Brandon Aiyuk to remain the #1 WR over the next 2 weeks, with Kendrick Bourne and Richie James as #2 and #3.

49ers HC Kyle Shanahan said Monday that WR Deebo Samuel will be out "a while" with his latest hamstring injury. With just 2 weeks left in most fantasy seasons, he can be dropped from rosters. WR Brandon Aiyuk is set up to dominate targets the rest of the way. In 4 games without Samuel and TE George Kittle (including last week when Samuel played 1 snap), Aiyuk has caught 24 of 41 targets.

49ers HC Kyle Shanahan admitted after Sunday's loss to Washington that WR Deebo Samuel's hamstring injury "didn't look good." ESPN's Nick Wagoner tweeted that there's a "real chance" Samuel misses the rest of the season -- although that seems more like speculation than a report. We should get an update on Samuel's status tomorrow. WR Brandon Aiyuk dominated targets in his absence vs. Washington, turning 16 targets into 10 catches for 119 yards.

Updating a previous report, 49ers WR Deebo Samuel (hamstring) has been cleared and isn't listed on the final injury report. He'll return for Sunday's game against the Rams, likely joining Richie James and Kendrick Bourne as San Francisco's top 3 WRs.

Niners WR Deebo Samuel (hamstring) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Rams. Samuel has been out since Week 7 with a hamstring injury and will face a tough defense even if active. Try to avoid Samuel in your fantasy football lineup even if he's active. We'll update his status Sunday afternoon.

Niners WR Deebo Samuel left Sunday's game at New England with a hamstring injury and did not return. We'll watch for updates on his status heading into Week 8.

Update: It's a hamstring strain, according to Cam Inman of the San Jose Mercury. The team expects Samuel to miss at least Week 8 against Seattle. We'll see beyond that.

The 49ers are expected to activate WR Deebo Samuel from the non-football injury list and include him on the initial 53-man active roster. That will make him eligible to play in Week 1. We'll certainly still keep an eye on his participation to make sure he's actually on track to play in the opener. But this is a good sign for Samuel's early-season outlook.

Niners HC Kyle Shanahan hopes to have WR Deebo Samuel available for the regular-season opener, but says it's too early to tell, according to the team website. "I think we're hoping for Week 1. Not counting on it, but I think that's kind of the area that these injuries usually heal by. But a lot of that has to do with: are you ready to play? Has it fully healed by that time? Are you in football shape?" Shanahan acknowledged that it'll be tough to know how ready Samuel might be before he actually returns to the field. We'll certainly keep an eye on the 2nd-year wideout's status as the regular season draws nearer. In the meantime, his uncertainty adds upside to the late-round price tags on WRs Brandon Aiyuk and Jalen Hurd.

49ers WR Deebo Samuel suffered a Jones Fracture in his foot during a throwing session with teammates on Tuesday, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Samuel is undergoing surgery on Thursday and is expected to be sidelined for 12-16 weeks, per Rapoport. That timeline would have Samuel out until sometime between early September and early October. And Jones Fractures are tricky. We often see the injury aggravated or cause compensatory issues. Samuel just sunk down our WR rankings. His injury creates even more opportunity for 1st-round rookie WR Brandon Aiyuk.

Niners WR Deebo Samuel is questionable for Sunday night's game against the Packers because of a shoulder injury that limited his practice time this week after knocking him out for a portion of last Sunday's game. Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle, however, reports that the team expects Samuel to play. There's some extra risk here, but Samuel belongs in fantasy-starter consideration.

49ers WRs Emmanuel Sanders (ribs) and Deebo Samuel (shoulder) are listed as questionable for Sunday night's game against the Packers. Both guys got in limited practices on Thursday and Friday and are expected to play vs. Green Bay. Sanders comes with risk, though, after he was unable to make it through last week's game. Samuel returned from his injury and produced, so he's the safer bet.

49ers WR Deebo Samuel (shoulder) returned to a limited practice on Thursday. He played through this injury last week and should be fine for Sunday night's game against the Packers.

WRs Emmanuel Sanders (ribs) and Deebo Samuel (shoulder), RB Matt Breida (ankle) and TE George Kittle (knee) all missed Wednesday's practice. HC Kyle Shanahan said it'll "come down to the wire" whether they can play against the Packers on Sunday night. Samuel seems most likely to play after returning from his injury last week. And we're betting on Sanders suiting up after playing 36 snaps last week. Breida and Kittle are truly questionable.

49ers WR Deebo Samuel suffered a shoulder injury in the 2nd half of Sunday's game in San Francisco and is officially questionable to return. We'll update his status when we learn more.

Update: Samuel returned midway through the 4th quarter.

49ers WR Emmanuel Sanders (ribs) didn't practice on Wednesday. His injury reportedly isn't serious, but HC Kyle Shanahan labeled him a game-time decision for this weekend's tilt with the Cardinals. Sanders' absence would leave rookie Deebo Samuel as San Francisco's #1 WR.

49ers WR Deebo Samuel (groin) practiced all week and isn’t listed on the final injury report. He’ll return for Sunday’s game against the Panthers — but his role is completely uncertain after the addition of WR Emmanuel Sanders.
