        Gardner Minshew's ACL in tact

Chiefs QB Gardner Minshew left the game against the Titans with a knee injury. Despite some fears of a torn ACL, tests showed that Minshew's ACL is in tact. He is still expected to miss time and not return this season. Ian Rapoport reports that the injury is specifcally a bad bone bruise, non-displaced tibial plateau fracture. Minshew was placed on IR. With Minshew missing the season, the Chiefs have signed QB Shane Buechele from the Bills' practice squad. He spent the 2021 and 2022 seasons with the Chiefs.

The Chiefs' Offense Turns to Dust for the Fantasy Playoffs

With QB Patrick Mahomes out for the season after tearing his ACL and WR Rashee Rice missing this week with a concussion, the Chiefs offense struggled against a poor Titans’ defense. QB Gardner Minshew left the game with a knee injury in the second quarter forcing the team to turn to QB Chris Oladokun. The team only scored 6 points* for the remainder of the game.

Gardner Minshew Believed To Have Torn ACL

The Chiefs believe QB Gardner Minshew tore his left ACL in the loss to the Titans, according to Chiefs Digest's Matt Derrick. Minshew is scheduled for an MRI to confirm, but he likely becomes the second straight Chiefs QB to suffer a season-ending knee injury. Kansas City will be down to QB Chris Oladokun the rest of the way. The 28-year-old, 2022 seventh-round pick had not thrown a regular-season pass before going 11-of-16 for 111 yards vs. the Titans today. Other than maybe WR Rashee Rice and TE Travis Kelce, the Chiefs' passing game will be hands-off against the Broncos in Week 17.

        Gardner Minshew Hurts Left Shoulder

Raiders QB Gardner Minshew suffered an apparent left shoulder injury late in Sunday's game vs. the Broncos. He was replaced by QB Desmond Ridder. QB Aidan O'Connell is expected back from his broken thumb within the next week or two. We'll see who's under center for Vegas against the Chiefs on Friday afternoon, but you won't want that guy in your fantasy lineup.

        Aidan O'Connell Has Broken Thumb

Raiders QB Aidan O'Connell is believed to have suffered a broken right thumb in the first half of Sunday's game vs. the Rams, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Considering that's his throwing hand, the injury figures to cost O'Connell multiple weeks. Vegas will turn back to QB Gardner Minshew, who was benched for O'Connell after Week 5.

Michael Pittman Jr. returns to control low-volume passing game

Colts WR Michael Pittman Jr. returned from missing Week 16 with a shoulder injury to regain control of the team's receiving in Sunday's win over the Raiders. Pittman posted an unimpressive 5-46 receiving line on 7 targets. But he drew a target on 30.4% of the team's pass attempts and claimed 33.3% of Colts completions. WR Alec Pierce took his lone catch for a 58-yard TD to lead the team in receiving yards. Rookie WR Josh Downs followed with 53 yards on just 2 receptions. QB Gardner Minshew attempted just 23 passes, completing 15 for 224 yards on a day that found Indy running on more than half of its offensive plays. Pittman looks like the only startable Colts pass-catcher for most fantasy formats in Week 18. Indy faces Houston, which allowed Pittman 8 receptions back in Week 2. Pittman also caught 8+ passes in six straight full outings before the Week 15 game he left early.

Anthony Richardson to miss 4-8 weeks

Colts QB Anthony Richardson is expected to miss four to eight weeks with his shoulder injury, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Richardson was placed on IR earlier today, knocking him out for at least the next four games. But he could miss time beyond that, "depending on his rehab and whether or not he still would need surgery on his right shoulder," per Schefter. Despite Richardson's top-5 weekly upside, he's droppable in standard-sized fantasy leagues.

Anthony Richardson out for at least Week 6

Colts HC Shane Steichen wouldn't give a timetable for QB Anthony Richardson's return from his shoulder injury on Monday but did rule the rookie out for this weekend's game vs. the Jaguars. The Athletic's Dianna Russini reports that the Colts are "bracing for the QB to miss 4-6 weeks of time." We'll look for further updates on Richardson's status. QB Gardner Minshew will be back under center this weekend.

        Colts draft Richardson

The Colts selected Florida QB Anthony Richardson with the fourth pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. Richardson tested as the most athletic QB in NFL Combine history. A 4.43 forty-time, a 40.5-inch vertical, and a 129-inch broad jump are simply incredible. At 6’4, and 244 pounds, Richardson’s dynamic speed/power combo showed up at Florida. The 21-year-old tallied 654 rushing yards and 9 TDs in his one season as a starter. Inexperience is part of the problem here. But Richardson needs to kick durability concerns after suffering knee, ankle, and hamstring injuries in college. He also needs to show more down-to-down consistency — especially in the short to intermediate ranges. Ultimately, we see the 21-year-old improving over time. With elite rushing ability and plenty of arm talent, Richardson has the high-upside profile you should chase in rookie drafts. Landing on the Colts also turns up a nice schematic fit with HC Shane Steichen, who helped develop Jalen Hurts. Indy added Gardner Minshew this offseason, so the Colts don’t have to rush Richardson on the field. Current projections have the rookie for 11 games.

        Hurts limited on Thursday

Eagles QB (right shoulder) managed to practice in a limited fashion on Thursday. This marks the 1st time Hurts has practiced since sustaining his shoulder injury in Week 15 vs. the Bears. It's still unclear whether he will be able to suit up vs. the Saints in Week 17. There's still a strong possibility we'll see QB Gardner Minshew again. Check back tomorrow as we learn more.
