Eagles TE Dallas Goedert left Sunday's loss to the Cowboys in the 4th quarter with a calf injury. We'll see about his status heading into Week 17. A meaningless regular-season finale might hurt his chances of returning to action.
The Eagles have designated TE Zach Ertz (ankle) to return from IR. We'll see if he's ready to play against the Browns this weekend. Ertz, of course, was struggling before the injury, averaging just 4 catches, 30 yards and 0.2 TDs across 6 games. Philly has 3 weeks to decide whether to add Ertz to the active roster.
The Eagles expect TE Zach Ertz to miss 3-4 weeks with the ankle injury he suffered in Sunday's loss to the Ravens, according to ESPN's Chris Mortensen. TE Dallas Goedert is eligible to come off IR for Week 7, if his injured ankle is ready. If Goedert isn't ready, then Richard Rodgers would figure to operate as the lead TE for Thursday night's game against the Giants. Ertz can be dropped in shallower fantasy leagues that don't have IR spots. He currently sits just 17th among TEs in PPR points, and Goedert should return before Ertz does, based on Mortensen's timeline.
Update: Adam Schefter adds that it's a high-ankle sprain for Ertz.
Eagles TE Zach Ertz was knocked out of Sunday's game vs. the Ravens with an ankle injury. We'll look for an update on the severity. TE Dallas Goedert (ankle) is eligible to come off IR next week, although it's unclear if he's ready.
The Eagles added TE Zach Ertz to the injury report Friday with an "upper body" issue. The team lists him as day-to-day, so there seems no reason for concern here.
Eagles TE Zach Ertz suffered a fractured rib in yesterday's win over the Cowboys, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Ertz played through the injury but was in obvious discomfort and finished with just 4 catches on 6 targets for 28 yards. We're assuming he'll suit up for Sunday's must-win game against the Giants but will monitor his status this week.
Eagles TE Zach Ertz suffered a rib injury in the 1st half of Sunday's game against the Cowboys. He headed back to the locker room with trainers and officially questionable to return. Stay tuned for an update.
Update: Ertz returned in the 2nd quarter.
Eagles TE Zach Ertz (hamstring) is active for today’s game against the Dolphins. He only got in a limited practice on Friday but reportedly played through this injury last week. There’s obviously increased risk here, but Ertz would be tough to sit in this plus matchup. Only Travis Kelce, George Kittle and Hunter Henry are ahead of Ertz in the Week 13 TE Rankings.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport hears that Eagles TE Zach Ertz (hamstring) is "pushing to play" and "it looks like it’s going to happen." Ertz got in just a limited practice on Friday but reportedly played through this injury last week. He comes with elevated risk in Week 13 fantasy lineups but boasts plenty of upside in a plus matchup vs. Miami.
Eagles TE Zach Ertz (hamstring) is listed as questionable for this weekend's game against the Dolphins. He only got in a limited practice on Friday but reportedly played through this injury last week. The Athletic's Zach Berman reported Friday morning that there's "optimism" about Ertz's availability. We'll get his official status by noon ET on Sunday.
Eagles TE Zach Ertz missed Wednesday's practice with a hamstring injury. The Philadelphia Inquirer's Jeff McLane reports that Ertz originally suffered the injury last week and played through it against the Seahawks. "Suggests that he might be able to do the same this week," McLane adds. We'll see what Ertz is able to do the next 2 days, but fantasy owners should at least line up a backup plan in case Ertz misses Sunday's game vs. Miami.
The Eagles have signed TE Richard Rodgers to a 1-year deal. The former Packer posted a 58-510-8 line back in 2015 but has totaled just 42 catches across the past 2 seasons. Rodgers owns a career 9.7 yards-per-catch average and doesn't offer much play-making ability. He'll slide in as Philly's #2 TE and will need a Zach Ertz injury to have a shot at fantasy relevance.
Eagles TE Zach Ertz (concussion) put in a full week of practice and isn’t listed on the final injury report. He’ll play in Sunday’s plus matchup against the Giants’ 32nd-ranked TE defense. Ertz is a high-end TE1 for that one.
Eagles TE Zach Ertz left in the 3rd quarter of Sunday night's game against the Seahawks to get checked for a concussion. He went to the locker room after the initial check in the sideline tent, so we're expecting the injury to be confirmed. If it is, that wouldn't bode well for Ertz's chances of playing at the Rams next Sunday.
Eagles TE Zach Ertz (hamstring) put in a full week of practice and isn't listed on the final Week 11 injury report. He's ready to go for Sunday night's game against a Cowboys defense missing LB Sean Lee.
Eagles TE Zach Ertz was added to Thursday's injury report as limited with a hamstring. We don't have any other details right now, but this is obviously one to keep a close eye on. We'll see if Ertz is able to practice on Friday and how he's listed on the final Week 9 injury report.
ESPN's Josina Anderson reports that the Eagles have reached a 1-year deal with WR Alshon Jeffery worth $14 million. The fact that he settled for a 1-year deal suggests that teams weren't keen on committing long-term money to the former Bear. The 1-year term can only help the motivation for a player's whose drive has been questioned since he was entering the league. Jeffery just turned 27 in February and should be in his prime. He has delivered quality fantasy numbers when healthy but lost 11 games to injury over the past 2 seasons. Carson Wentz looks like an upgrade over the QB collage that piloted a sluggish Bears pass offense through last season, and Philly ranked 6th in the league in pass attempts. The overall target picture looks nice, but Jeffery will need to compete with WR Jordan Matthews and TE Zach Ertz for top honors. Wentz, meanwhile, has seen significant upgrades to his pass-catching corps on the 1st day of the 2017 league year. He could challenge for fantasy's top 12 at the position this year.
Eagles TE Zach Ertz (hamstring) left the field after the walkthrough portion of Thursday's practice, per insider Jeff McLane, after being limited on Wednesday. It looks like he suffered the hammy injury on Wednesday. We'll have another update on Ertz tomorrow, but fantasy owners should be making other plans for Week 11.
Eagles OC Frank Reich acknowledged Wednesday that the team needs to get the ball to TE Zach Ertz more in the passing game. “We’re pushing for that. We’re thinking about it. We’re planning for it," he said. "I can tell you each week there are X number of plays geared to go to Ertz since he’s been back." Reich said game flow can be an issue, indicated that Ertz has been held up at the line at times and also pointed out that QB Carson Wentz's summer rib injury stunted the growth of the connection. But Reich also called Ertz a "great tight end." A struggling Philly passing game could obviously use help. We'll see if the Eagles can actually get this talented pass-catcher going. The Giants have covered TEs better this year than last, though, so we wouldn't recommend taking a shot on Ertz anywhere outside of DFS tournaments this week.
