Chiefs RB Spencer Ware suffered a right knee injury in the 1st quarter of Friday night's game against the Chiefs. He left the field on a cart and the team quickly ruled him out for the game. That obviously doesn't bode well. Any missed time would deliver a huge boost to RB Kareem Hunt's fantasy outlook. Hunt was already sharing 1st-team work with Ware in the 3rd preseason contest. We'll keep an eye out for further updates.
The Chiefs have signed RB Spencer Ware. He played in Kansas City from 2015 to 2018, averaging 4.7 yards per carry on 337 attempts. Ware signed with the Colts this offseason but was placed on the PUP list with an undisclosed injury before eventually being released. He figures to be active on Sunday against the Patriots if RBs Damien Williams (rib) and Darrel Williams (hamstring) are out. Ware won't be a bankable Week 14 fantasy option, but his addition puts a damper on RB Darwin Thompson's outlook.
The Colts have placed RB Spencer Ware on the reserve PUP with his undisclosed injury. That knocks him out for at least the first 6 games of the season, but NFL Network's Ian Rapoport tweets that Ware's season is over. His absence leaves Jordan Wilkins as the Colts' #3 RB behind Marlon Mack and Nyheim Hines.
Colts RB Spencer Ware has been placed on the PUP list and will miss "a couple weeks" with an undisclosed injury, GM Chris Ballard said. That won't help Ware in his battle with Jordan Wilkins to win Indy's #3 RB job behind lead back Marlon Mack and pass-catcher Nyheim Hines. We'll see when Ware is able to get on the field.
The Colts have signed RB Spencer Ware. The former Chief has averaged 4.6 yards per carry and 11.5 yards per catch for his career, proving capable of handling lead duties when called upon. In Indianapolis, though, Ware figures to battle with Jordan Wilkins for work behind Marlon Mack and pass-catcher Nyheim Hines.
Chiefs RB Spencer Ware (hamstring) is not listed on the final injury report after putting in full practices on Thursday and Friday. So he'll presumably be active for Sunday's AFC Championship against the Patriots. Ware was atop Kansas City's depth chart prior to the injury but figures to return as Damien Williams' backup. It's unclear exactly how much work Ware will siphon.
