The Falcons released RB D'Onta Foreman. Atlanta is down to Mike Davis, Qadree Ollison and Cordarrelle Patterson at RB. We'll see if they add to the backfield over the next few days. But Davis is looking safer and safer as the team's clear lead back.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that RB D'Onta Foreman is signing with the Panthers. the quick move (ahead of Wednesday's official opening of the new league year) points to Carolina prioritizing the former Titans RB. Foreman, of course, had his best stretch in the pros last year with Tennessee after RB Derrick Henry went down. He now looks like the best bet to lead the Panthers in carries should Christian McCaffrey go down. Foreman's quick arrival also looks like bad news for 2nd-year RB Chuba Hubbard, who saw his workload decrease late in his rookie campaign.
NFL Network's James Palmer says "don't be surprised" if Titans RB D'Onta Foreman gains carries vs. the Saints "over Adrian Peterson." We thought Foreman looked better than Peterson in the season debut for each veteran back last week against the Rams. Of course, Tennessee faces the league's #1 defense in rushing DVOA, according to Football Outsiders. So neither RB is an exciting option for Week 10. Foreman looks like he carries more upside than Peterson.
The Titans promoted RB D'Onta Foreman to the active roster. He signed to the practice squad on Tuesday, so he must have had a good week of practice. Foreman joins Jeremy McNichols and Adrian Peterson in Tennessee's backfield for Sunday night's game vs. the Rams.
The Titans waived RB Mekhi Sargent from the practice squad and replaced him with RB D'Onta Foreman. Foreman was a 3rd-rounder back in 2017 but has totaled just 29 carries since tearing his Achilles in November of his rookie year. He's unlikely to emerge as a fantasy factor but is at least worth monitoring in Tennessee's Henry-less backfield.
The Falcons signed RB D'Onta Foreman. The 89th pick of the 2017 draft was a promising prospect but hasn't done much since tearing his Achilles in November of his rookie season. He carried 22 times for 95 yards as a backup in Tennessee last year. We'll keep an eye on Foreman in a relatively wide-open depth chart in Atlanta, but he's a long shot for fantasy value.
