Titans QB Ryan Tannehill has been activated from the COVID list. He should be good to go for next Sunday's opener vs. the Cardinals. RB Jeremy McNichols was also activated from the COVID list and will join Mekhi Sargent behind Derrick Henry on the depth chart.
Titans HC Mike Vrabel commented on QB Ryan Tannehill during a Monday press conference. “We have to be great around him, but he’s shown signs of accuracy, of decision-making, to the ability to extend plays and scramble, and leadership,” Vrabel said via USA Today. “So, those are all things you look for in a quarterback, and Ryan showed us that. Unfortunately, we turned the ball over on Saturday.” The 33-year-old was put in a tough position this year, losing Derrick Henry around midseason and getting little from Julio Jones. Tannehill, however, tossed 14 INTs — his most since 2013. He carries a dead-cap hit of nearly $58 million for 2022, making him a lock to return for year 4 in Tennessee. He profiles as a mid-level QB2 in early 2022 fantasy football drafts.
Titans LT Taylor Lewan suffered a leg injury in pregame warmups-ups and is inactive vs. Seattle
The Titans announced Thursday that QB Ryan Tannehill has landed on the COVID list. It's not yet clear whether he tested positive or was merely a close contact, so he'll miss anywhere from 5-10 days. Either timeframe should still have him back on the field ahead of the regular-season opener. We'll pass along any further updates on the situation.
The Titans have promoted Todd Downing to OC. He replaces Arthur Smith, who took the HC job in Atlanta. Downing spent the past 2 seasons as Tennessee's TEs coach. His only NFL OC experience came back in 2017 with the Raiders, who finished that year 17th in total yards and 23rd in points. The more of Smith's offense Downing can keep in place, the better.
The Titans have shut down their facility again after a coach tested positive for COVID on Sunday morning, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. The team had gone a couple days without a positive and seemed on track to play the Bills on Tuesday night. But that's now in serious doubt. We'll continue tracking the situation, but Bills and Titans players should probably be on fantasy benches for now.
