"Something's up with the velocity on [Daniel Jones'] throws," Giants insider Dan Schneier told us on the latest Draft Sharks podcast. "Ball placement is something that's been waning for him since his rookie season ... it seems to be only getting worse. The velocity is a weird thing." Schneier wonders if the dip in velocity is related to the neck injury that Jones suffered last year. Schneier also notes that Jones has seemed to struggle with HC Brian Daboll's offense and with getting on the same page as his receivers so far in camp. There's plenty of time for that stuff to get ironed out, but the arm strength note is concerning. Jones is cheap enough in fantasy drafts that you can keep taking shots on him. But we're less excited about his 2022 value now than we were before talking to Schneier.

The Giants have agreed to a four-year deal with QB Daniel Jones. According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the contract will pay him $160 million, with another $35 million available in incentives. And it pays $82 million over the first two years. The agreement came just before the franchise-tag deadline, allowing the Giants to use the tag on RB Saquon Barkley. Now we'll see what the team can add at WR to help Jones' fantasy upside.

The former 1st round pick is set to become a free agent this offseason after recording the most productive season as a pro. Jones set a career-high in passing yards (3,205) and rushing yards (708) in 2022. When asked about returning to the team, Jones said he'll "cross that bridge when we get there. I’ve really enjoyed playing here. I appreciate all those guys in the locker room. It’s a special group of guys. And I really enjoyed being a part of it," in post-game interviews. His future will be one of great intrigue this offseason.

The fourth-year QB also led the team in rushing, tallying 78 yards on 17 carries on the ground. This remarkable performance from Jones will be worth keeping in the back of fantasy managers' minds when filling out DFS lineups moving forward in this NFL postseason. Jones is building a strong case for a sizeable contract as he approaches free agency.

Jones hit WR Richie James and WR Isaiah Hodgins for TDs. James caught all 7 of his team-high 7 targets for a team-leading 76 yards. Hodgins ranked 2nd on the team in targets (5) and receptions (4), totaling 42 yards. TE Daniel Bellinger (3-42) was the only other Giant to catch more than 2 passes. This was Jones' 1st game all season with more than 2 total TDs. The Giants clinched a playoff spot with the victory. We'll see what they have to play for in a Week 18 visit to the Eagles.
