The Cowboys released K Jonathan Garibay and signed K Brett Maher on Tuesday. Garibay had reportedly struggled mightily in camp. Maher and K Lirim Hajrullahu will duke it out for the starting job over the next month. It's a situation to avoid in fantasy drafts until we get a winner.
The Rams re-signed K Brett Maher. He spent the first seven games of the season with Los Angeles, making 17 of 23 FGs (74%) and 12 of 13 XPs (92%). Maher will kick in Sunday's regular-season finale vs. the 49ers -- and presumably in the playoffs if he doesn't blow this opportunity.
The Rams released K Brett Maher, who missed two FGs and one XP in the Week 7 loss to the Steelers. He'll be replaced at least for now by K Lucas Havrisik. We've never heard of him either. Havrisik was on the Browns' practice squad but has never attempted a regular-season NFL kick. He made just 64% of his college FGs at Arizona.
The Rams signed K Brett Maher. They'd been without a kicker after releasing Tanner Brown at final cuts on Tuesday. Maher sports a career 81% FG conversion rate and could be a fantasy spot-start option this season if the Rams offense bounces back.
The Broncos signed K Brett Maher. It’s a reunion for the 33-year-old, who once kicked for HC Sean Payton. Maher made 31 of 34 FGs last year but will need to beat out Elliott Fry for the starting nod.
The Cowboys are releasing K Brett Maher, but Michael Gehlken of the Dallas Morning News reports that the expect to re-sign him pretty quickly. The move is reportedly being made to allow for other roster moves in setting the initial 53-man roster. So Maher still looks like Dallas' Week 1 kicker.
