Bengals WR Tyler Boyd injured a finger on his right hand early in Sunday's game vs. the Browns and is questionable to return. We'll update his status when we know more.
Update: Boyd has been ruled out.
Bengals WR Tyler Boyd (ankle) is active for today’s game vs. the Colts. He was added to the injury report on Thursday and limited again in Friday’s practice. It’s unclear how big an issue the ankle will be today, but Boyd was a weak fantasy bet anyway.
Bengals WR Tyler Boyd (ankle) is questionable for this weekend’s game vs. the Colts. He was added to the injury report on Thursday and limited again in Friday’s practice. HC Zay Taylor said Friday that he expects Boyd to play this weekend. But he was a weak fantasy bet even before the ankle trouble.
Bengals WR Tyler Boyd racked up 117 receiving yards in the Week 10 loss to the Texans. His eight catches and 12 targets (30% share) both led the team in a game WR Tee Higgins missed. Higgins seems unlikely to be ready for Thursday night's showdown with the Ravens after hurting his hamstring this past Wednesday, which should mean another big role for Boyd. He's been excellent the past three weeks, averaging a big 10.7 yards per target.
If you started Bengals WR Tyler Boyd in Week 8, then he rewarded you with a TD. But he also drew just 3 targets despite playing more snaps and running more routes than WR Tee Higgins. Boyd caught all three for 40 yards -- including the TD. Higgins trailed Boyd but closed the playing-time gap vs. their Week 6 roles, before the bye. We'd bet on Higgins moving past Boyd in Week 9, which should be his second straight game off the injury report. Boyd goes back to being a handcuff-level WR ,with a chance to score in any given week.
Bengals WR Tyler Boyd addressed his contract situation on Tuesday. The 28-year-old is entering the final year of a 4-year, $43 million deal. “I know I’m going to be a free agent next year, and at the end of the day, it will come down to money,” he said. “I have a great, strong feeling that they will come with an offer to where it’s still going to be tough for me to leave ’cause this is my family. I spent my whole career here.” Boyd also admitted he’s behind Joe Burrow and Tee Higgins when it comes to the Bengals’ contract priorities. For 2023, at least, Boyd remains a bench stash who's best utilized when either Higgins or Ja’Marr Chase are inactive.
