NFL Network's Ian Rapoport said on Sunday that Rodgers is still targeting a Week 16 return -- but we remain skeptical that he'll play again this season for a Jets team without a realistic chance to make the playoffs. There's a chance that Rodgers returns to practice this coming week, per Rapoport, although getting back on the practice field the following week is considered more likely. This is a bit of a surprise since earlier reports said Rodgers would only return if the Jets were in the playoff hunt. They have less than a 1% chance to make it after Friday's loss to the Dolphins, according to The New York Times' model. But Rodgers is obviously out to prove something with this return from a torn Achilles. And it'd be nice to build some positive momentum heading into 2024. Rodgers would be tough to trust in fantasy lineups if he does make it back. But it'd be excellent news for WR Garrett Wilson and RB Breece Hall's late-season fantasy value.

"I know it sounds insane, but if you do a good surgery, have a good patient, it makes this possible," Rodgers said. The Jets play the Texans on December 10 and the Dolphins on December 17. A goal, of course, doesn't necessarily mean that Rodgers will definitely be back this season. Whether the Jets are still alive for a playoff spot will also likely impact whether he returns. Rodgers couldn't be trusted as more than a QB2 that late in the season if he does make it back, so he's only worth stashing in 2-QB and superflex leagues.
