Jaguars Trade Up and Draft Travis Hunter
The Jaguars selected Colorado WR Travis Hunter with the second pick of Round 1 in the 2025 NFL Draft. He brings rare athleticism and a polished offensive skill set, but it remains to be seen if he will play both CB and WR for the Jaguars. A slender 6'1, 185 pounds, the Georgia native wins with clean route running, advanced ball skills, and sticky hands. The Jackson State transfer posted 57-721-5 in his debut season at Colorado. Then in 2024, his production reached superstar status with 96 catches, 1,258 yards, and 15 TDs. He primarily played outside in 2024 after seeing heavy slot usage in 2023. He also ranked 11th among Combine WRs in 2024 Target Share at 26.3%, and fourth among those WRs in PFF Receiving Grade with an 89. He is currently 21 years old with a Breakout Age of 19.4. He ranked first among WRs in our Draft Sharks predraft Rookie Model scoring a 9.19. Our Comp for him in our Rookie Guide is Santana Moss.
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
Hunter was announced as both WR and DB.
With CeeDee Lamb-type WR skills, the Heisman Trophy winner gives the Jaguars another elite weapon next to WR Brian Thomas Jr. He helped support Shedeur Sanders in Colorado.
The Jaguars gave up quite a haul to acquire Hunter, giving up fifth overall, their 2026 1st round pick, and #36 overall, showing their faith in Hunter as an impact player.
In IDP leagues, Hunter could be a cheat code if he gets points on both the offensive and defensive side of the ball.
Dynasty Impact
Hunter remains a scary long term proposition if he does end up playing CB over WR
