Falcons TE Kyle Pitts has been sidelined at OTAs due to a strained muscle in his foot, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. No word on the severity of the injury or a timeline for Pitts' return, but we don't get the feeling that this is a major concern.
Pitts suffered a left foot injury in his final season at Florida in 2020 but didn't miss any games. It's unclear if this latest issue is related.
It doesn't sound like this injury will impact Pitts' readiness for the start of the 2025 season, but he could use all the practice reps he can get coming off a disappointing 2024 season. Pitts averaged a career-low 35.4 yards per game and finished 25th among TEs in PPR points per game.
After a 1,026-yard rookie season, Pitts has averaged just 36.9 yards per game over the last three years. He hasn't topped 8.1 PPR points per game or finished better than TE18 in any of them.
We're not burying the 24-year-old Pitts just yet. But we're also not drafting him as more than a TE2 flier right now.
We'll see when he's able to get back on the field.
