After an injury-wrecked 2024 season, 49ers RB Christian McCaffrey has enjoyed a healthy offseason. "I feel great," McCaffrey said this week. "I think this offseason I spent a lot of time kind of building back a base starting from scratch, so a lot of it was rehab and wanted to put myself in a position where I didn't miss a day of OTAs and I could practice and play football again, be healthy and not miss a day, and I did that."
McCaffrey, his coaches, and 49ers media have given glowing reviews on the RB's health and play this offseason. At this point, it seems like last year's Achilles and knee injuries are behind him.
Whether McCaffrey's body will hold up throughout the 2025 season remains a question. But for however long it does, this guy is going to put up big fantasy numbers. McCaffrey led all RBs in fantasy points in 2023 and remained a workhorse last year, averaging 14.3 carries and 5.3 targets across his three full games. OC Klay Kubiak said in May that the Niners will continue to "do everything we can to get him the ball as much as we can."
McCaffrey sits second to only Bijan Robinson in our baseline PPR RB projections — and he leads the position in ceiling projection.
From Baker Mayfield's bloated TD rate to Brian Thomas' historic rookie season, here are 139 things I learned doing 2025 fantasy football projections.
