WR Tetairoa McMillan went 6-73-1 on 10 targets against the Buccaneers. Jalen Coker was the next highest WR with 5 targets. McMillan matched up against CB Jamel Dean often who had been stout against outside WRs, but McMillan was able to win multiple times one-on-one. As the Panthers march toward the NFC South crown, McMillan has proved himself to be an elite option who can be relied upon for the fantasy championship (and next season).
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
QB Bryce Young went 21/32 for 191 yards and 2 TDs. The close game against the Bucs led to an increased passing volume for Young, leading to the fourth game this season with double digit targets for McMillan.
Coker went 3-47-0 on those 5 targets. He now has six games in a row with 4+ targets. Coker was second in snaps with 44 (McMillan was first with 47). Coker has become the clear No. 2 WR for the Panthers moving forward. Xavier Legette was third with 35 snaps.
RB Rico Dowdle was actually second on the team in targets with 6,but only went 4-14-0. He went 9-29-0 on the ground compared to 6-27-0 for Chuba Hubbard. Hubbard only went 1-7-0 through the air.
McMillan and company do have a tough match-up next week at home against the Seattle Seahawks. Despite the season-long success of the Seahawks defense, they were just torn apart by Matthew Stafford, Puka Nacua and the Los Angeles Rams.
It isn’t a must-start spot for McMillan, but it will be tough to sit him down on the bench for your fantasy championship. Next season, McMillan should be a high pick in PPR leagues, even with questions about the Panthers’ pass volume. He has shown elite skills, but Bryce Young has to take the next step for McMillan to truly become elite.
