The Packers are trading WR Dontayvion Wicks to the Eagles in exchange for 2026 fifth- and 2027 sixth-round picks, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Philadelphia is also giving Wicks a one-year, $12.5 million extension that keeps him signed through the 2027 season. Wicks has teased fantasy owners with a handful of strong outings over the last four seasons and registered strong marks in advanced metrics like targets per route and yards per route. But he never carved out a consistent role in Green Bay. There's opportunity for him to do so in Philadelphia ... if WR A.J. Brown is traded.
2026 Fantasy Football Impact
The Eagles have now traded for Wicks and signed WR Marquise Brown this offseason. All as rumors continue to swirl about an A.J. Brown trade that would likely come after June 1 for salary cap purposes.
If Brown is dealt, Wicks and Brown would duke it out for No. 2 WR duties behind DeVonta Smith. Brown is the bigger name with better career numbers. But he got just $5 million on his one year deal and trails Wicks in career yards per route (1.57 to 1.60).
It'd be an interesting battle to track this summer, with the winner having a chance at low-level fantasy value. Brown would leave behind an average of 8.4 targets per game, although we'd expect Smith and maybe even TE Dallas Goedert to absorb some of those.
Other Winners & Losers
The Packers have shed Wicks and WR Romeo Doubs this offseason, leaving Christian Watson, Jayden Reed, and Matthew Golden as the clear top three for now. We'll see if Green Bay grabs a WR in this month's draft, but we're not expecting a significant addition.
Reed carries obvious bounce-back appeal in 2026, while Golden is a virtual lock to play a bigger role in his second season. But Watson is our favorite of the trio. He's the cover boy of our 2026 Fantasy Football Breakouts article.
