Rams RB Darrell Henderson suffered a thigh injury in Sunday's game against the Dolphins and is questionable to return. Malcolm Brown and Cam Akers have been splitting backfield duties in Henderson's absence.

Rams RB Cam Akers (ribs) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Giants after missing practice all week. The red-hot Darrell Henderson figures to serve as Los Angeles' lead back in that one, with Malcolm Brown as the #2 back.

Rams RB Cam Akers (ribs) remained sidelined for Wednesday's practice. That doesn't bode well for his chances of returning for this weekend's game against the Giants. Akers' absence would only make it easier to trust RB Darrell Henderson in fantasy lineups. The 2nd-year back has ran for 195 yards and 2 scores over the past 2 weeks.

Rams RB Cam Akers (rib) is out for Sunday’s game against the Bills. RB Malcolm Brown (pinky) is not listed on the final injury report after putting in full practices on Thursday and Friday. Brown and Darrell Henderson will split backfield duties this weekend, with Henderson the preferred fantasy play after his strong Week 2.

Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic reports that Rams RB Malcolm Brown suffered a finger injury in Sunday's win over the Eagles that left him "a bit limited near the end of the game." We'll see if it will affect him beyond that.

Rams RB Darrell Henderson (hamstring) put in a full week of practice and isn’t listed on the final injury report. He’s expected to be part of a 3-back committee alongside Cam Akers and Malcolm Brown in Sunday night’s opener vs. the Cowboys. Akers is the best fantasy bet — but consider him just a risk/reward RB3.

Rams RB Darrell Henderson (hamstring) put in a full practice on Wednesday. That puts him on track to play in Sunday night's opener against the Cowboys -- and makes RB Cam Akers a shakier fantasy bet. Try to avoid the situation if possible, although Akers is still our top-ranked Rams RB.

Rams HC Sean McVay expects RB Darrell Henderson (hamstring) to be ready for the season opener. Still, it's tough to imagine him playing a big role in that one considering he's expected to miss a bunch of practice time between now and then. Henderson is just a bench stash for fantasy squads.

Rams RB Darrell Henderson suffered a low-grade hamstring strain in Saturday night's scrimmage, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports. "Not serious and shouldn't miss much time," Pelissero adds. "Optimism he'll be ready for Week 1." It's relatively good news, although Henderson will miss valuable practice time as he battles Cam Akers and Malcolm Brown for snaps. Consider Akers to favorite to open the season as Los Angeles' lead back.

ESPN's Lindsey Thiry calls it "a toss-up" whether Darrell Henderson or Cam Akers will lead the Rams backfield in touches this season. "Expect Henderson to earn more touches early in the season, given Akers could take extra time to acclimate because of the virtual offseason program," Thiry adds. That scenario certainly seems possible, but it's also just a guess at this point. The Rams' heavy draft investment in Akers this spring just a year after they selected Henderson (a round later) leaves us expecting Akers to lead the backfield. The uncertainty of the situation is worth keeping in mind as you consider both players in best-ball drafts this summer.

Rams RB Darrell Henderson told reporters on Wednesday that he had surgery on the ankle injury that sidelined him for last year's finale. We don't have any other details on the injury or procedure -- but Henderson said he's fully recovered and will be ready for the start of camp. He'll be battling rookie Cam Akers and Malcolm Brown for snaps in the Rams' Todd Gurley-less backfield.

The Rams selected Florida State RB Cam Akers in the 2nd round of the 2020 NFL Draft. Akers was tough to evaluate this past season because Florida State’s offensive line was so damn bad. Akers averaged a mediocre 5.0 yards per carry on his 231 attempts but ranked top 12 among draft-eligible RBs in both yards after contact and missed tackles forced, per Pro Football Focus. His 125.9 Elusive Rating was near the top of the class — notably ahead of guys like Jonathan Taylor, D’Andre Swift, Clyde Edwards-Helaire and J.K. Dobbins. Akers arrived at Florida State as a 5-star recruit after playing QB in high school. His 1,025 rushing yards in 2017 broke Dalvin Cook’s freshman school record. Akers also contributed in the passing game all 3 years in Tallahassee, posting 16-116-1, 23-145-2 and 30-225-4 receiving lines. He showed out at the Combine, running a 4.47-second 40-yard dash at 217 pounds and posting strong marks in the vertical and broad jumps. Akers joins Darrell Henderson and Malcolm Brown in the Rams’ Gurley-less backfield. This will likely be a committee, but consider Akers the early favorite to lead the group in touches.

The Rams announced Wednesday they've released RB Todd Gurley. He will still count $20.15 against the salary cap over the next 2 years, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. The timing of the move keeps them from having to pay another $10.5 million in salary and bonuses this year. Gurley was obviously not the same player in 2019 after being dogged by a knee issue over the 2nd half of 2018. He now becomes the latest clear argument against giving an RB a big 2nd contract. That said, Gurley will catch on elsewhere and likely remain fantasy relevant. We'll see about that landing spot. The Rams, meanwhile, return Darrell Henderson and Malcolm Brown at the top of the RB depth chart. Henderson now looks set up for a breakout 2nd year after limited opportunities in his rookie season.

Rams RB Darrell Henderson (ankle) is out for Sunday’s finale against the Cardinals. That’ll only matter if L.A. decides to rest RB Todd Gurley. In that case, Malcolm Brown would be left as the feature back.

Rams RB Malcolm Brown (ankle) practiced all week and isn’t listed on the final injury report. He’ll return for Sunday’s game against the Steelers. We’ll see how Brown and Darrell Henderson divvy up work behind Todd Gurley, but neither Brown nor Henderson can be trusted in Week 10 fantasy lineups.

Rams RB Malcolm Brown (ankle) was limited in Wednesday's practice. HC Sean McVay said afterward that Brown is "trending in the right direction" for this weekend's game against the Steelers. His return could put another dent in Todd Gurley's workload and would remove Darrell Henderson from RB3/Flex consideration.

Rams RB Malcolm Brown (ankle) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Bengals in London. With Brown sidelined last week, Todd Gurley played 61% of the offensive snaps and handled 18 carries and 1 target, while rookie Darrell Henderson played 35% of the snaps and got 11 carries and 1 target. Gurley is a borderline RB1 vs. Cincinnati's league-worst RB defense, and Henderson is in the RB3/flex mix.
