Rams RB Malcolm Brown (ankle) is inactive for today’s game against the Falcons. Rookie Darrell Henderson will step in as Los Angeles’ #2 RB, but we can’t count on him getting more than a handful of touches.

Rams RB Todd Gurley (quad) isn’t listed on the final Week 7 injury report after graduating to a full practice on Friday. RB Malcolm Brown (ankle) missed practice all week and is listed as doubtful for Sunday’s game against the Falcons. Rookie Darrell Henderson will serve as Los Angeles’ #2 RB in this one, but Gurley should be in for plenty of volume in a likely shootout.

Rams RB Todd Gurley (quad) is officially inactive for today’s game against the 49ers. He has a “chance” to return for Week 7, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport said this morning. Malcolm Brown is expected to serve as Los Angeles’ feature back today, with Darrell Henderson — and potentially John Kelly — spelling him.

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Rams RB Malcolm Browns is "expected to be the featured back" against the 49ers today in Todd Gurley's absence -- with rookie RB Darrell Henderson "sprinkling in." That goes along with our expectation. San Francisco has presented a tough run D this year, but Brown should be a good volume bet in an offense that ranks 6th in scoring and 4th in yards through 5 weeks.

Rams RB Todd Gurley (quad) is out for Sunday's game against the 49ers, a team source tells ESPN's Lindsay Thiry. The team has promoted RB John Kelly from the practice squad. Both Kelly and rookie Darrell Henderson could mix in for a handful of touches, but look for Malcolm Brown to handle the majority of the backfield work tomorrow.

Rams RB Todd Gurley (quad) is listed as doubtful for Sunday’s game against the 49ers after missing practice all week. His status beyond Week 6 is unclear. Gurley’s absence this weekend leaves Los Angeles’ backfield to Malcolm Brown and Darrell Henderson. We’re expecting Brown to handle most of the early-down and red-zone work, with Henderson operating in a change-of-pace role. Note that this isn’t a great matchup against a ‘Niners squad sitting 5th in Football Outsiders’ run defense rankings and 2nd in adjusted fantasy points allowed to RBs.

Rams RB Todd Gurley's status for Sunday's game against the 49ers is "very much up in the air," according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. So Wednesday's missed practice was more than just a day off. The Rams are "preparing as if [Gurley] doesn't go" on Sunday, Rapoport adds. His absence would leave Malcolm Brown as Los Angeles' lead back, with rookie Darrell Henderson in a change-of-pace role.

The Rams' plan this season is for RB Darrell Henderson to be a "Chris Thompson type," according to Yahoo's Charles Robinson. Across HC Sean McVay's final 2 years as Redskins OC, Thompson carried 103 times and caught 84 of 110 targets. He finished 55th and then 28th among RBs in PPR points. Fantasy owners drafting Henderson at his early-7th-round ADP have to be hoping for at least a bit more work for the rookie this season. We currently project Henderson for 96 carries and 24 catches.

The Rams selected Memphis RB Darrell Henderson in the 3rd round of the 2019 NFL Draft. Henderson posted eye-popping numbers for the Tigers. He took 130 carries for 1,154 yards (8.9 YPC) and 9 TDs as a sophomore in 2017. Then he posted a matching 8.9 yards per carry last year, this time racking up 1,909 yards and 22 scores on 214 totes. The big-play machine busted off 27 runs of 20+ yards and 12 of 40+ in 2018 alone. He ranked 2nd in this RB class in Pro Football Focus’ Elusive Rating. Henderson also proved capable in the passing game, totaling 63 catches for 758 yards (12.0 YPC) and 8 TDs across 3 college seasons. He disappointed with a 4.53-second 40 time at the Combine (he plays much faster) but still came away with a 67th percentile SPARQ score. This is obviously a rough landing spot for Henderson — at least in the short term. But the pick might hint at some real concern about Todd Gurley’s knee.
