Jets WR Corey Davis suffered a hip injury in Thursday's practice. HC Robert Saleh admitted Friday morning that it's "not looking good" for Davis to play vs. the Bengals this weekend. Saleh suggested that WR Denzel Mims will step into Davis' role -- but he can't be trusted in fantasy lineups with QB Mike White under center.

Jets WR Jamison Crowder (groin) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Broncos. Braxton Berrios has been filling in as New York’s slot receiver, totaling 12 catches on 18 targets for 124 scoreless yards over the past 2 weeks. WR Denzel Mims is a healthy scratch again for the Jets.

Jets WR Denzel Mims will be a healthy scratch vs. the Patriots today, according to insider Brian Costello. Mims played just 3 snaps in the opener, so there's no fantasy impact here. Mims might be on the move before this year's trade deadline.

Jets WR Denzel Mims had a rough spring, working mostly with the 2nd and even 3rd-team offenses. But Pro Football Network's Tony Pauline hears that Mims has been much better lately, showing a better understanding of the new offense and producing on the field. He's "been the best receiver at camp in the past four days alongside Elijah Moore," Pauline writes, adding that Mims got reps with QB Zach Wilson and the 1st-team offense at a recent scrimmage. Pauline also reports that Mims dealt with food poisoning in June and lost 15 pounds -- which certainly explains some of his earlier struggles. This Jets WR corps remains fluid, so we'll monitor Mims and the rest of them in preseason action.

Jets WR Denzel Mims was working with the 3rd-team offense in Friday's practice, according to multiple reports. So in case you were still wondering whether the spring reports that he wasn't in line to start this season were true, here you go. As of now, it looks like Corey Davis and Keelan Cole will be the Jets' outside receivers, with Jamison Crowder and rookie Elijah Moore battling for the slot job. Mims isn't rosterable in redraft leagues.

The Athletic's Connor Hughes came away from Jets OTAs believing Keelan Cole -- not Denzel Mims -- is the favorite for the outside WR spot opposite Corey Davis. "The Jets want to run a carbon copy of Kyle Shanahan’s offense, which requires route-running specialists at receiver who can create yards after the catch," Hughes writes. "Mims isn’t really that kind of a player. He might never be a route technician. Scouts always viewed him as more of a vertical, linear player." Mims missed some time in OTAs with a hamstring injury, while Cole "looks really, really good so far," according to Hughes. This will be a situation to monitor in training camp and preseason action.
