He should be set to return Thursday night against the Broncos from the groin injury that cost him Week 6. That will push Ben Niemann back to a small role. He played just 13, 15 and 13 snaps the 3 games before Hitchens left early in Week 5. The Chiefs will miss CB Kendall Fuller (thumb) and DT Chris Jones (groin) against Denver, however. CB Bashaud Breeland is questionable for the game despite not having an injury. He did not travel with the team, but the Broncos have so far given no details on the corner's situation.

Chiefs CB Kendall Fuller left Sunday's loss to the Texans early with a right thumb injury. He's headed for X-rays, according to multiple reports. The short week before Thursday night's game at Denver could challenge his ability to be ready for Week 7. We'll keep an eye on Fuller's status.

Chiefs LB Reggie Ragland is a surprise inactive against the Jaguars in Week 1. He had been working with the starters in the preseason, though coming off the field for sub packages. You can drop Ragland in any IDP league at this point. LB Damien Wilson, meanwhile, is a potential deep sleeper.

The Chiefs spent their 2nd pick of Round 2 on S Juan Thornhill in the NFL Draft. Thornhill snared 13 INTs over the past 3 seasons, defensing 26 total passes. He tallied a career-high 98 total tackles in 2018. He then delivered terrific numbers in the 40-yard dash (4.42 seconds, 92nd percentile), very (44 inches, 99th) and broad jump (141 inches, 99th) at the Scouting Combine. He could step into Eric Berry's vacated role quickly in Kansas City.

The Chiefs have agreed to a trade for Seahawks DE Frank Clark. Per ESPN's Adam Schefter, the move will send this year's 1st-round pick and a 2nd-rounder in 2020 to Seattle, with the 2 teams also swapping selections in this year's 3rd round. Beyond that, Kansas City has reportedly signed Clark to a 5-year contract worth $105.5 million, with $63.5 million of that guaranteed. The Seahawks had franchised Clark, so his payday was coming. It's a surprising move for K.C., though, given that they had already traded away franchised edge rusher Dee Ford this offseason. Clark tied Ford's 13 sacks last season (7th in the league) and ranked 8th in total QB hits (with 2 fewer than Ford -- who also tallied 3 more tackles for loss). That followed seasons of 9, 10 and 3 sacks for the 25-year-old Clark. The trade shows K.C. clearly considers Clark a better fit in new DC Steve Spagnuolo's 4-3 base than it did Ford, an OLB in the Chiefs' previous 3-4 alignment. Clark's fantasy outlook shouldn't change. Perhaps it will help that he joins a stronger D-line than the one he left. Seattle, meanwhile, should be in the market for DE help. And the Seahawks are well setup with picks 21 and 29 in a class loaded on EDGE prospects. The current roster sports 2018 rookie Rasheem Green, 4th-year DE Branden Jackson and recent 1-year signees Cassius Marsh and Nate Orchard as the top options. Green's the highest upside play for IDP owners among them.

The Chiefs have reached a 3-year deal with EDGE Alex Okafor, according to multiple reports. NFL Network reports it's worth "up to" $24 million. Okafor spent the past 2 years at DE for the Saints, totaling 8.5 sacks. There might be some upside beyond that, but he ranked no higher than 90th in Pro Football Focus' pass-rushing productivity among EDGE players either season. Okafor's a solid player but not likely to approximate the production of departed OLB Dee Ford. His shift to OLB in the Chiefs' 3-4 front further knocks his IDP value.

The Chiefs have released S Eric Berry. The veteran appeared in just 2 games last season, topping 30 snaps only once. He was set to draw $12.4 million in salary in the coming season, so the move clears cap space. It also thins a secondary that just added Tyrann Mathieu in free agency. Berry -- who just turned 30 in late December -- figures to get a shot elsewhere if he wants to keep playing.
