Lions RB Kerryon Johnson (knee) is out for Sunday’s game against the Rams. We’ll see if the rookie can get back for Week 14. LeGarrette Blount will serve as Detroit’s lead ball-carrier for as long as this game stays close. He’s a risk/reward RB3 or flex play in non-PPR leagues.

Lions RB Kerryon Johnson (knee) remained sidelined on Thursday. He's not going to play against the Rams this weekend, leaving the backfield to LeGarrette Blount and Theo Riddick.

Lions RB Kerryon Johnson (knee) did not practice on Wednesday. It's not a good start for his chances of returning for this weekend's game vs. the Rams. Look for LeGarrette Blount to again serve as the lead ball-carrier in that one, with Theo Riddick dominating passing-game work.

Lions RB Kerryon Johnson (ankle) is active for today’s game against the Bears. He was limited in practice all week, but we haven’t heard any concern about the ankle. The matchup with Chicago is the bigger issue and makes Johnson a low-end RB2 for Week 10.

Lions RB Kerryon Johnson (ankle) is expected to play against the Bears today. He's officially questionable after limited practices all week. It's also a negative matchup for Johnson's fantasy outlook. Consider other options at RB for Week 10.

The Lions list RB Kerryon Johnson (ankle) as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Bears. The rookie was limited in practice all week, but there’s been nothing to suggest he’s in danger of missing this one. We’ll find out for sure by noon ET on Sunday. If active, Johnson will be a low-end RB2 in a tough matchup.

Lions RB Theo Riddick (knee) is not listed on the final injury report after putting in a full practice on Friday. His return is excellent timing with the departure of WR Golden Tate and his 9.9 targets per game. Riddick should step back into to a sizable role in the passing game, making him a low-end PPR option. His return also puts a dent in RB Kerryon Johnson’s target projection.

Lions RB Theo Riddick (knee) is out for Sunday’s game against the Seahawks. That’ll again mean an expanded passing-game role for RB Kerryon Johnson, who played a season-high 59% of the snaps last week.

Lions RB Theo Riddick (knee) remained sidelined on Thursday. He seems unlikely to play against the Seahawks this weekend. With Riddick out last week, RB Kerryon Johnson set season highs in snap rate (59%), carries (19) and total touches (21).

Lions RB Theo Riddick (knee) is out for Sunday’s game against the Dolphins after missing practice all week. We don’t have any details on the injury or when we can expect him back. Tim Twentyman of the Lions’ official website suggests that RB Ameer Abdullah will soak up most of Riddick’s role, but RB Kerryon Johnson might also pick up some extra snaps.

Lions RB Kerryon Johnson injured his right ankle in the 4th quarter of Sunday's game against the Packers. He got it taped up and tried to jog it off, but he hasn't re-entered the game. We'll look for updates on his status.

Lions RB Ameer Abullah is inactive for tonight's opener against the Jets. After a preseason that found him in the 1st-team mix, this indicates that Abdullah's depth-chart standing has not improved despite a new coaching staff. With no special-teams role, we're left wondering why Detroit bothers keeping the now-veteran back on the 53-man roster. His deactivation can only help rookie Kerryon Johnson's touch count.

The Lions selected Auburn RB Kerryon Johnson with the 43rd overall pick of the 2018 NFL Draft. Derrius Guice’s slide continues. Johnson was a workhorse for the Tigers last year, carrying 285 times for 1,391 yards and 18 TDs. He caught 24 balls for 194 yards and 2 more scores. Johnson left school with a mediocre 4.8 yards-per-carry average and didn’t overly impress us on film. But he can obviously carry the mail and lands in a solid spot in Detroit. LeGarrette Blount is a 31-year-old on a 1-year deal, Theo Riddick is a pure pass-catcher and Ameer Abdullah has clearly fallen out of favor. Johnson is the odds-on favorite to lead the 2018 backfield in carries, although Riddick limits his pass-catching upside.
