The Saints are "not likely" to have RB Latavius Murray (quad) or QB Taysom Hill (knee) active for today's game against the Buccaneers, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Those absences would boost the touch and scoring upside for RB Alvin Kamara, as well as the scoring upside for QB Drew Brees. Hill has often replaced Brees near the goal line in recent weeks. Kamara has posted lackluster yardage totals in each meeting with Tampa this year but also scored on the ground and caught 5 passes in each game.

Saints RB Latavius Murray (quad) is questionable for Sunday's game vs. the Bucs after returning a limited practice on Friday. He's expected to be a game-time decision. We'll look for further updates but might not know Murray's status until a little after 6 pm ET on Sunday.

Saints RB Latavius Murray (quad) remained sidelined on Thursday. He's certainly in danger of missing Sunday's Divisional Round game vs. the Bucs, which would leave RB Alvin Kamara in a workhorse role. Check back Friday night for another update on Murray.

Saints RB Latavius Murray (quad) did not practice on Wednesday. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport hears that his status is "up in the air" for Sunday's Divisional Round game vs. the Bucs. Murray's absence would mean a significant boost in touches for RB Alvin Kamara.

Saints RB Latavius Murray suffered a quad injury late in the 3rd quarter of Sunday's win over the Bears and didn't play in the 4th. We'll see if he's able to play in this weekend's Divisional Round game vs. the Bucs. If not, RB Alvin Kamara will be in for a volume boost.

Saints RBs Latavius Murray, Dwayne Washington and Mike Burton have been placed on the COVID list as close contacts of RB Alvin Kamara, Fox Sports' Jay Glazer reports. Those 3 guys are out for Sunday's game against the Panthers but will at least be eligible for the 1st round of the playoffs if they continue to test negative. New Orleans will use Ty Montgomery at RB and also promote Tony Jones from the practice squad, according to Glazer. The Saints will likely be forced to go pass-heavy in this one, but Montgomery has some RB3 and DFS appeal.

NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports that Saints WR Michael Thomas' high-ankle sprain is "worse than originally believed and he's now expected to miss several weeks." Thomas' absence would push targets toward WR Emmanuel Sanders, TE Jared Cook, WR Tre'Quan Smith and RB Alvin Kamara -- and perhaps motivate the Saints to go more run-heavy. As recently as 2017 and 2018, this offense ranked among the most run-heavy in the league. The next 3 weeks bring matchups with the Raiders, Packers and Lions -- all of whom ranked 16th or worse in Football Outsiders run-defense DVOA last season. Then come the Chargers (25th) and a Week 6 bye. So you should probably prepare the possibility of going without Thomas until Week 7. Thomas' situation also hurts the fantasy outlook for QB Drew Brees, who threw for just 160 yards in the opening win over Tampa.

Saints RB Alvin Kamara (ankle) practiced all week and isn’t listed on the final injury report. He’ll return for Sunday’s smash spot at home for the Falcons. Kamara might cede a bit more work to RB Latavius Murray than he was before the injury, but he remains a high-end RB1. Murray is in the RB3/Flex mix in this week's plus matchup.

Saints RB Alvin Kamara (ankle, knee) is inactive for today’s game against the Cardinals. He’s expected to return following New Orleans’ Week 9 bye. Latavius Murray will again operate as the Saints’ feature back today. He turned 32 touches into 150 yards and 2 TDs last week.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Saints RB Alvin Kamara (knee, ankle) won't play against the Cardinals today. Kamara is expected back after New Orleans' Week 9 bye, Schefter adds. Latavius Murray gets another game as the feature back after racking up 150 yards and 2 TDs on 32 touches last week.

Saints RB Alvin Kamara (ankle, knee) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game against the Cardinals. He put in limited practices on Thursday and Friday. It’d make a lot of sense for New Orleans to hold Kamara out of this one with a looming Week 9 bye, but it looks like there’s at least a shot he returns on Sunday. We’ll continue to look for updates on Kamara and will get his official game status by noon ET on Sunday. Latavius Murray will be a RB1 if Kamara ends up inactive.

Saints RB Alvin Kamara (ankle, knee) remained sidelined for Wednesday's practice. With a bye coming next week, it'd make sense for New Orleans to hold Kamara out of Sunday's game against the Cardinals. His absence would make Latavius Murray a RB1.

Saints RB Alvin Kamara (ankle, knee) is out for Sunday’s game against the Bears after missing practice all week. He tried to battle through the ankle injury last weekend and ended up tweaking his knee. We’ll see if Kamara can make it back for Week 8, but note that New Orleans has a Week 9 bye. RB Latavius Murray will step in as the lead back on Sunday. It’s not an ideal matchup, but he should be looking at 15-20 total touches, making him a RB2 for the week.

Saints RB Alvin Kamara (knee, ankle) remained sidelined on Thursday. He could probably play this weekend without practicing, but we won't be surprised if the team opts to hold him out of the game in Chicago. Check back tomorrow for another update.

Saints RB Alvin Kamara (ankle, knee) didn't practice on Wednesday. He entered last weekend's game with an ankle injury and tweaked his knee during the win over the Jaguars. Kamara probably could play against the Bears on Sunday -- but New Orleans might opt to let him heal up. We'll get another update tomorrow. RB Latavius Murray should be owned in all leagues and would be a RB2 for Week 7 if Kamara doesn't play.

Saints RB Alvin Kamara is dealing with a "high ankle-type issue," according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. Kamara originally hurt his ankle in practice last Thursday. He played against the Jaguars on Sunday but posted seasons lows in snap rate (59%) and carries (11). Per Pelissero, Kamara will be limited in practice this week but "still thinks he has a shot to play" against the Bears on Sunday. It might make more sense to just take a week off and get that ankle back to 100%. We'll obviously keep a close eye on this throughout the week, but RB Latavius Murray needs to be owned in all fantasy leagues.

Saints HC Sean Payton revealed after Sunday's win over the Jaguars that RB Alvin Kamara "tweaked his knee" in addition to the "swollen ankle" that made him questionable for the game. Saints Wire reports that Payton "doesn't appear worried" about Kamara's status for Week 7, but the RB did play a season-low 59% of the snaps against Jacksonville. We'll watch his status leading up to Sunday's game at Chicago.
