Bengals TE Tyler Eifert (concussion) is out for Sunday’s game against the 49ers. He didn’t practice all week and certainly isn’t a lock to be cleared in time for Week 16. Rookie TE Tyler Kroft will start in Eifert’s place but isn’t a fantasy option. WR Marvin Jones could see a few extra targets with Eifert out, but we’re expecting a run-heavy attack from Cincinnati.

Bengals WR Marvin Jones worked with the 1st-team offense on Wednesday for the 1st time this offseason, per insider Paul Dehner.  Jones and A.J. Green were on the outside with Mohamed Sanu in the slot in 3-WR sets.  Jones got off to a rough start this summer, missing time with minor injuries and getting called out by HC Marvin Lewis.  But he's come on lately and is still our bet to win Cincinnati's #2 WR job.  Jones is an intriguing late-round flier in fantasy drafts.

Bengals WR Marvin Jones took the field Saturday for the 1st time this week. He had been sitting out with hamstring soreness -- and drawing the ire of his head coach. If he can stay healthy from this point forward, though, Jones should be able to win Cincinnati's #2 WR spot over Mohamed Sanu. We'll be interested to watch the rest of Jones' preseason.

Bengals WR Marvin Jones is missing training-camp work once again with what HC Marvin Lewis termed leg soreness this week. And the coach seems to be getting annoyed with the absence of his young WR. “Marvin’s got to get to practice if Marvin wants to get to play,” Lewis told the Cincinnati Enquirer. “That’s part of it. He hasn’t played football for us in a year, basically. He had two or three practices or whatever he had last year in the fall. Marvin’s got to get prepared to play NFL football.” Lewis added that Jones needs to “be like everybody else and find a way to get out there and get going.” Jones, of course, missed all of 2014 with foot and ankle injuries, and none of us can know just how his body feels this time around. But it seems as though a starting role could be in jeopardy if he doesn't return to the field soon. Fortunately, Jones' late fantasy football ADP makes him a fairly low risk if you still want to chase the upside from his 10-TD 2013.

Bengals WR Marvin Jones said he’s “got it back” after participating fully in June minicamp. He missed the entire 2014 season with foot and ankle injuries, eventually requiring surgery to remove bone chips. But he’s back to 100% now. “We looked at it, got it fixed, and it’s not there anymore,” Jones said. “It was an unfortunate situation, but it’s behind me. Once I’m out there and I know I’m good -- nothing structurally is wrong, nothing is going to happen – I just go out there and flow. It hasn’t been a problem.” Jones posted a 51-712-10 line back in 2013 and looked like Cincinnati’s #2 WR before last year’s injury issues. We’re expecting him to beat out Mohamed Sanu for the #2 spot this summer. That’d make Jones a potential WR3 for your fantasy squad that you can get late in your draft. His ADP is sitting in the 14th round.

Bengals WR Marvin Jones put in only limited workouts when the Bengals opened OTAs Tuesday. "I'm good. I just have to clear the physical," Jones said afterward, per ESPN.com. Sounds good, but Jones failed the physical last week that would have cleared him for full practice. It's only noteworthy in May because he missed all of last season with foot and ankle injuries. Jones will need to prove this summer that he's all the way back and that we can count on him to stay on the field. More likely, however, he'll remain a late-round option in your fantasy football draft with sizable injury risk. Iffy status for Jones could help the outlooks for TE Tyler Eifert, WR Mohamed Sanu and even RB Giovani Bernard by potentially leaving targets on the field.

Bengals WR Marvin Jones (foot) expects to be a full-go for the team's offseason program.  “I’ve got the green light to do anything and everything I need to do to get back to where I need to be,” Jones said. “I’ve been surprised at the progress I’ve made in only going on my second week training and at the rate I’m going I’m sure I will be in game shape very soon ... My focus is on getting back that muscle memory, lower body explosion , and just getting out there on the field and go all out with no (hiccups) consistently every day."  Jones dealt with a nagging ankle injury all spring, broke his foot early in training camp and then re-aggravated the ankle injury after returning to practice in September.  He never played in 2014.  Of course, he flashed some serious big-play ability in 2013, averaging 14 yards per catch and scoring 10 times on 51 grabs.  WR Mohamed Sanu had a few big games for the Bengals this past season but mostly looked like a league-average #2 WR.  He finished 88th among 110 WRs in Pro Football Focus' rankings.  A healthy Jones is plenty capable of snatching that #2 WR job away from Sanu this summer.

The Bengals have placed WR Marvin Jones on IR, ending his 2014 season.  He played in exactly 0 games this year, missing the first 3 with a broken foot and the last 2 with an ankle injury.  We still don't know the extent of the ankle injury and whether he'll need surgery, but Jones should be back to 100% for the offseason program.  He'll have a battle on his hands with Mohamed Sanu for #2 WR duties.  Jones is still worth stashing in dynasty leagues.

Bengals insider Geoff Hobson hears that the team "may think about surgery" for WR Marvin Jones' ankle.  Jones injured the ankle in practice a couple weeks ago and has yet to get back on the field.  We haven't heard any details, but it's obviously more than a minor injury.  Jones is only worth stashing in deep fantasy leagues at this point.  Mohamed Sanu's stock continues to rise in the meantime.

The Bengals have ruled WR Marvin Jones out for Sunday's game against the Panthers with his ankle sprain.  Jones had been listed as questionable but missed practice all week.  No fantasy owners should have been planning on using him.  This confirmation of his status boosts the upside for WR Mohamed Sanu a bit, as the Bengals also seem likely to be without WR A.J. Green.  RB Giovani Bernard also only looks better as a receiver given all the injuries.  And an offense likely to go run-heavy might even pump some fantasy value into #2 RB Jeremy Hill in a positive rushing matchup.

Bengals WR Marvin Jones (ankle) is inactive for tonight’s matchup with New England. Mohamed Sanu will make another start opposite A.J. Green.

Bengals WR Marvin Jones (ankle) is doubtful for Sunday night's game against the Patriots.  He was set to make his 2014 debut after breaking his foot in August but tweaked his ankle in practice on Wednesday.  Mohamed Sanu will get another game with #2 WR duties to himself.  He's just a low-end WR3 in fantasy.

Bengals WR Marvin Jones "tweaked" his ankle recently and did not practice on Wednesday, per insider Geoff Hobson.  Jones, of course, was expected to make his 2014 debut this weekend after breaking his foot in August.  The ankle injury isn't related to the foot, according to Hobson, but Jones now looks questionable for Sunday night's game against the Patriots.  He wasn't a reliable fantasy option anyway.

The Bengals are expecting WR Marvin Jones, returning from his broken foot this week, to help in the red zone.  "We can't keep settling for field goals. At some point quickly that becomes critical," WRs coach James Urban said. "The natural inclination last year with Marv scoring touchdowns, hopefully that helps. The plays are there, we have the players to make the plays we just haven't made them the way we should. Hopefully Marv can help us."  Nine of Jones' 10 TDs last year came in the red zone.  He won't be a reliable fantasy option right away but could eventually emerge as an upside WR3.  And his return will boost QB Andy Dalton's fantasy stock.

Bengals HC Marvin Jones confirmed that WR Marvin Jones (foot) will return to practice this week.  It puts him on track to make his 2014 debut when Cincinnati comes out of its Week 4 bye.  We'll need to see how snaps are divvied between Jones and Mohamed Sanu, but Jones is worth stashing now in deeper leagues.  He was a top-20 fantasy WR over the final 4 games of last season and was slated to start alongside A.J. Green before breaking his foot in August.

Bengals TE Tyler Eifert has been placed on short-term IR.  It knocks him out for 8 weeks, so he'll be eligible to return in Week 10.  We wouldn't bother stashing Eifert in any redraft leagues.  His absence will mean more action for TE Jermaine Gresham, but he remains an unexciting fantasy option.  Gio Bernard, Mohamed Sanu and, eventually, Marvin Jones could also see more targets with Eifert sidelined.

NFL Network's Albert Breer reports that the Bengals believe TE Tyler Eifert suffered a dislocated elbow in Sunday's win over the Ravens. "That'd likely put him out for an extended period of time," Breer adds.  We should get a better idea of Eifert's timetable within the next couple days, but he'll be droppable in most fantasy leagues.  Eifert's absence should mean a few extra looks for TE Jermaine Gresham, but he's still an unappealing fantasy option.  WR Mohamed Sanu -- and WR Marvin Jones when he returns -- could be the primary beneficiaries.
