Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott posted a season-high 92 rushing yards in Thursday's win over the Giants, including a TD from 6 yards out early in the 2nd quarter. He actually trailed Tony Pollard in both carries (18-16) and targets (2-1) for the game, as Dallas went run heavy. Pollard averaged just 3.3 yards per rush and collected only 2 yards on 2 receptions. The level of work would be enough to support both RBs going forward, though we wouldn't expect Dallas to run the ball more than it throws most weeks. Next Sunday brings a Colts D that favors the pass more than the run. After that, however, comes a Houston defense that has been league-worst against the run this year.

Cowboys RB Tony Pollard matched Ezekiel Elliott's 15 carries in the latter's return from a knee injury. Pollard, of course, out-gained Elliott 80 yards to 42 on the ground. Elliott claimed both rushing scores, however. Pollard made up for that with a huge receiving day. He led the team in targets (6), catches (6) and receiving yards (109), while scoring both of the team's receiving TDs. Those came from 30 and 68 yards out. There might be weeks of frustrating usage for Pollard going forward, but he'll be tough to sit.

Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott (knee) is active for today’s game vs. the Vikings. He was limited in practice all week but is reportedly "light years ahead of last week." It’s unclear exactly how backfield work will be divvied between RB Tony Pollard and Elliott in his 1st game back from the knee injury. See where both guys sit in the Week 11 RB Rankings.

The Cowboys plan to give RB Tony Pollard "a little bit more in terms of touches" than RB Ezekiel Elliott agains the Vikings today, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports. Dallas wants to "ease Elliott back in" coming off an LCL injury and "significant contusion all the way down his shin" back in Week 7, per Pelissero. Elliott will wear a brace on that knee today. Consider him a TD-dependent RB3 play in fantasy lineups. Pollard is a RB2.

The Cowboys expect RB Ezekiel Elliott (knee) to play today against the Vikings, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. He adds that 1 source called Elliott "light years ahead of last week." We all know how much Dallas likes to work Elliott when he's in the lineup, but we're still betting that Tony Pollard gets enough today to be viable for fantasy football lineups.

Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott (knee) was limited in practice all week and is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game vs. the Vikings. Both he and owner Jerry Jones said late in the week that Elliott is expected to return for this one. It’s unclear if he’ll step back in to his previous role, though, leaving Zeke as a risky Week 11 fantasy play. See where Elliott and Tony Pollard sit in the Week 11 RB Rankings.

Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott (knee) is expecting to return for Sunday's game vs. the Vikings, according to ESPN's Ed Werder. “I’m definitely very optimistic about this week," Elliott said Thursday. "Barring any setbacks the next couple of days, I’m feeling good… I think I’m in a good spot.” Elliott is expected to wear a brace on that injured knee, per Werder. We're expecting his workload to be scaled back at least a little, leaving Zeke as just a RB3 in Week 11 fantasy lineups.

Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott (knee) remained limited in practice on Wednesday. He was limited all 3 days last week before missing the Packers game. Zeke's status for Sunday's contest vs. the Vikings remains uncertain.

Cowboys RB Tony Pollard racked up 28 opportunities in Sunday's OT loss at Green Bay, with Ezekiel Elliott inactive. He took 22 carries for 115 yards and a TD and caught 3 of 6 targets for 13 yards. Elliott was talked about like a game-time decision ahead of Sunday's deactivation, which would seem to make him likely to return for a Week 11 trip to Minnesota. But we'll see about Elliott's status throughout this week. Pollard should be in Week 11 starter consideration for fantasy football teams either way.

Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott (knee) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Packers. He got in 3 limited practices this week, so we’re tentatively expecting him to return for Week 11. The Cowboys showed last time out that they don’t want to make RB Tony Pollard a workhorse. But he still projects for 15-20 touches in a plus matchup, landing him inside RB1 territory in the Week 10 Rankings.

Cowboys HC Mike McCarthy does not expect RB Ezekiel Elliott (knee) to play vs. the Packers later today, according to ESPN's Ed Werder. Werder adds that McCarthy "wasn't definitive," but all signs over the past 24 hours have pointed to Zeke missing this one. We won't get Dallas' inactives until 3 pm ET, but Elliott should be on fantasy benches -- and RB Tony Pollard in starting lineups.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport says Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott (knee) "may very well be held out" of today's game vs. the Packers today. "If there is any uncertainty at all, Elliott won't play," Rapoport adds. "The team will be cautious." We'll look for further updates on Zeke but won't get Dallas' inactives until 3 pm ET. We're currently projecting Elliott to miss this game, turning Tony Pollard into a RB1.

ESPN’s Ed Werder reports that the Cowboys don’t expect to decide whether RB Ezekiel Elliott (knee) will play at Green Bay on Sunday until they see him in pregame warmups. “Expect a conservative decision,” he adds. That suggests it’s more likely Elliott doesn’t play. RB Tony Pollard looks like a stronger touch bet than usual either way, though not having Elliott in the lineup would obviously help his outlook

Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott (knee) is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game vs. the Packers after being limited in practice all week. Owner Jerry Jones has said multiple times this week that he expects Elliott to play in that one, but Zeke sounded less sure when asked on Wednesday. We’ll look for further updates on his status. We won’t get Dallas’ inactives until 3 pm ET on Sunday.

Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott (knee) remained limited in Thursday's practice. Elliott suggested earlier this week that he's not a lock to return for Sunday's game vs. the Packers, but check back tomorrow for another update on his status for that one.

Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott said after a limited practice Wednesday that he'll "need to get some more reps to see where I'm at" for Sunday's game at Green Bay, according to Jon Machota of The Athletic. "The long game (playoffs) is definitely the priority," Elliott added. It sounds like even if Elliott's ready to return Sunday from the knee injury that cost him the last game, we should expect a lighter-than-usual workload. That bodes well for RB Tony Pollard's usage. We'll keep watching for more on the situation throughout the week.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said Tuesday that RB Ezekiel Elliott (knee) is expected back for this weekend's game vs. the Packers. We'll get Dallas' 1st practice report of the week tomorrow.

Cowboys RBs coach Skip Peete said the team is trying to keep RB Tony Pollard to no more than 30 snaps per game. "Pollard played a total of 30 plays [last week], and I think that's his max - as far as total play count - because then the juice doesn't become the same and he's not as quick, not as fast," Peete said. "When he got that long run on third-and-1, soon as he got to the sideline he said, 'Coach, I'm done. Done for the game. I've got no more.' ... Tony's obviously a very talented runner and good all-around back, but some guys are race cars. Some guys are high-quality, expensive sedans and those sedans can go for a long distance at a very high rate, whereas race cars go very fast and quick and run out of gas." It's just the latest indication that Dallas views Pollard as the 1B to Ezekiel Elliott's 1A.

Don't expect to see a significant shift in Dallas' backfield going forward, despite RB Tony Pollard's big Week 8. “There’s no argument,” owner Jerry Jones said when asked whether RB Ezekiel Elliott should still be the team's lead back. "Zeke’s ability to punish, Zeke’s ability to deliver, Zeke’s ability, what he does for us in pass protection, and, frankly, Zeke’s ability to make big plays are there, and we’re going to go where Zeke goes. He’s that integral to our success.” It's blatantly clear that Pollard gives Dallas' offense more juice. But the Cowboys -- check that, Jerry Jones -- has 90 million reasons to stick with Elliott. We'll see if Pollard picks up any additional work when the Cowboys come off their Week 9 bye, but he's still best considered a RB3 or flex for now.

Cowboys RB Tony Pollard got a modest 14 carries with Ezekiel Elliott out Sunday, but he racked up 131 yards and 3 TDs on the ground. The biggest strike came from 54 yards out in the 4th quarter, but he also scored from 18 and 7 yards out. Pollard added 16 yards on his lone reception. Malik Davis checked in 2nd with 8 carries for 23 yards and caught both of his targets for 18 more. Dallas now gets a Week 9 bye. We'll see about Elliott's knee after that.
