Browns WR Anthony Schwartz (knee) is active for today’s game vs. the Texans. The rookie was surprisingly involved in the opener, catching 3 of 5 targets for 69 yards and carrying once for 17 yards. But he played just 53% of the offensive snaps and still can’t be trusted in fantasy lineups.
Browns WR Anthony Schwartz said he's not yet 100% recovered from lingering injuries. Schwartz missed a chunk of training camp with a hamstring issue — then sat out 3 games with a concussion. “It's not really soft-tissue stuff. It's a little bit more than that,” he said via the Akron Beacon Journal. “[I’m] mainly just getting my health back, trying to get everything from the season out of me, so I'm able to train fully and able to not have any setbacks. I really want to get my speed back to where I know it can be and being able to keep that speed up throughout the season and being able to stay healthy throughout the season, so I can contribute — be one of the top guys on the team.” Schwartz’s speed is indeed his best trait — he blazed a 4.27 forty-time at Auburn’s Pro Day. A 2021 3rd-round pick, the 6’0, 186-pounder carries some sleeper appeal in deep dynasty formats.
Browns WR Anthony Schwartz sustained a concussion in Sunday's game vs. the Patriots. He had moved into a top-3 spot on the depth chart since WR Odell Beckham's departure. We'll track Schwartz's progress through the protocol.
Browns WR Anthony Schwartz (knee) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Texans after a limited week of practice. The rookie tallied 5 targets and 1 carry in the opener but ran a route on just 55% of pass plays. He's not on the redraft radar at this point.
The Browns took Auburn WR Anthony Schwartz with the 91st overall pick of the 2021 NFL Draft. A legit track star in high school and college, Schwartz unsurprisingly blazed a 4.27-second 40 time at his Pro Day. He’s just 6’0 and 186 pounds, though, and was below average in the jumping and agility drills. Schwartz was used as more of a gadget player than true WR at Auburn. He averaged just 12.2 yards per catch over his 3-year career and scored more rushing TDs (7) than receiving (6). The speed is intriguing, but Schwartz has a long ways to go to be a real fantasy factor. The Browns have Odell Beckham signed through 2023 and Jarvis Landry through 2022.
