Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Rams COO Kevin Demoff said his team would like to re-sign WR Odell Beckham but conceded that Beckham is unlikely to be ready until late in the season after tearing his ACL in the Super Bowl. "I think ultimately, when you're in resource allocation, when you know a player who would probably come in and help you, maybe for the last few weeks, but really in the playoffs, your focus right now has to go on those who are going to be here for training camp, start the season for you," Demoff said. "And then how much can you leave for a player of Odell's caliber? If we didn't have a salary cap we could've signed Odell months ago and would've loved to." Beckham will be just 7 months removed from his ACL tear when the 2022 season kicks off. A typical timeline would have him out for at least the first 2 months of the season. That makes him tough to draft in fantasy, especially in leagues without an IR spot.
WR Odell Beckham could be out until early November as he recovers from the torn ACL he suffered in the Super Bowl, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. OBJ is expected to be on the "later end" of the typical 6-9 month rehab timeline for ACLs, Rapoport adds. That means Beckham figures to miss the first half of the 2022 season. Rams HC Sean McVay said in a Friday radio interview that he'd like to re-sign Beckham, who's set to hit free agency later this month.
Rams WR Odell Beckham announced Tuesday that he underwent successful surgery on his torn left ACL. It's good news that he was able to get the knee repaired just a couple of weeks after the Super Bowl and likely means that there was no damage to other ligaments. Beckham is still up against it to be ready for the start of the 2022 season, but we'll keep a close eye on his rehab.
Rams WR Odell Beckham is "believed" to have a torn ACL, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. That was the fear when OBJ went down with the non-contact injury in the 2nd quarter of the Super Bowl. This is the same left knee in which Beckham tore the ACL in October of 2020. He ended up missing the first 2 games of 2021 recovering. This injury occurred nearly 4 months later, putting his availability for the start of the 2022 season in serious doubt. Beckham is also scheduled to hit free agency in March.
Rams WR Odell Beckham was knocked out in the 2nd quarter of the Super Bowl with a non-contact, left knee injury. That's the same knee in which OBJ tore the ACL in October of 2020. He spent the 2nd half of the Super Bowl on the sidelines in street clothes with a sleeve on the injured knee. We should learn more about the injury soon. Beckham is slated to hit free agency in March, but there was reportedly mutual interest in a return to Los Angeles before this injury.
Rams beat writer Lindsey Thiry believes it’s “unlikely” the team can retain both Odell Beckham and Von Miller for 2022. L.A. simply lacks the cap space to bring the veterans back. After arriving around mid-season, OBJ racked up 27 catches for 305 yards and 5 scores in 7 starts. He’s tallied 10-123-1 on 12 targets across 2 postseason games. A return to L.A. might seem appealing, but remember that Robert Woods should return from an ACL tear. Beckham will turn 30 in November.
Rams WR Odell Beckham has been activated from the COVID list. He's eligible to play vs. the Seahawks on Tuesday night and can be stuck back into Week 15 fantasy lineups.
This week's Seahawks-Rams game has been moved from Sunday to Tuesday, according to multiple reports, as the Rams deal with a rash of COVID positives. This game won't be on the DFS main slate but will still count for Week 15 in season-long leagues. We'll see if RB Darrell Henderson, WR Odell Beckham and WR Tyler Lockett are able to clear COVID protocols in time for the game.
Update: This game will kick off at 7 pm ET on Tuesday.
Rams WR Odell Beckham has been placed on the COVID list. We'll track his status throughout the week, but fantasy owners should plan on being without him for Sunday's game vs. the Seahawks. Beckham played in Monday night's win over Arizona, so we'll see if there's any COVID-related impact from that -- either on the Rams or Cardinals.
Rams WR Odell Beckham is not listed on the Week 14 injury report. It's notable after he played just 53% of the offensive snaps last week -- presumably because of the hip pointer he was playing through. Beckham should be back to a full-time role vs. the Cardinals on Monday night.
Rams WR Odell Beckham (hip) is active for today’s game vs. the Jaguars. He got in limited practices on Wednesday and Friday, but it never seemed like he was in jeopardy of missing this one. We’re expecting Beckham to be an every-down player today. He’s a WR2 with upside in fantasy lineups.
