He's just a RB3 or flex option. His return does dent the value of Ty Montgomery, though, who's been playing most of his snaps at RB. We'll see if he gets more time at WR now.

Packers HC Mike McCarthy revealed Monday that RB/WR Ty Montgomery was on a snap count in Sunday's game against the Colts. He ended up playing 31 of 69 snaps (45%) in his 1st game back from a sickle cell-related absence. That was down significantly from the 69% he played in his previous game. Montgomery still finished with a solid 91 total yards on 10 touches (7 carries, 3 catches). He remains a fantasy starter, but his upside will be capped until he's a full-go again.

Colts CB Vontae Davis cleared the league concussion protocol Saturday and should play Sunday at Green Bay, according to Stephen Holder of the Indianapolis Star. Expect Davis to spend most of the day on Packers WR Jordy Nelson, which should funnel more targets toward Green Bay's other wideouts.

Packers WR Davante Adams is surprisingly active for tonight's game against the Bears, just 4 days after suffering a concussion. He's a low-end WR3. Adams' presence doesn't hurt WR Ty Montgomery much. He still figures to be involved in both the passing and running games.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Packers RB Eddie Lacy needs foot surgery and will be place on the IR. It's unclear if he has a chance to be the player designated for return. But even that would keep him out until at least Week 15. Lacy can safely be dropped in all redraft league. With RB James Starks expected to miss a few more weeks, newly acquired Knile Davis suddenly finds himself atop the depth chart. We don't love the player, but the situation makes him worth owning in most fantasy leagues. We'll see if the Packers promote undrafted rookie RB Don Jackson from the practice squad. Packers WR Ty Montgomery finally provided some details on the ankle surgery he had in December that still has him sidelined now. He had "tight ropes" placed in his ligaments to hold them in place, cartilage damage repaired and a microfracture procedure on the bone between his heel and tibia. That microfracture is considered the most serious issue and comes with a 6-9 month recovery, according to former NFL head team doctor David Chao. Montgomery has been cleared to run but still has no timetable for a return to full action. He might even be a candidate to open the season on the reserve/PUP list. Montgomery isn't worth rostering in redraft leagues.
